I must admit I feel the same about close games. Never mind can we win a close game in the playoffs, can we win a close game period? It is excruciating to watch the Packers come up short in so many close games. I do like McCarthy but I think he must deserve some of the blame for the closs game losses. I sometimes think he plays not to lose, rather than to win.
Then again he has made some good calls in big games. Like the onside kick in the Cardinals game, or the onside kick against the Patriots.
I agree, although, I'm still on the fence with MM. Don't know what it is about playing sub-par teams {this year and past seasons} where we just don't seem to have enough focus, let them hang around and not put them away and our mistakes then costs us wins in those games. That's what's so frustrating to me! We seem to really gear up against much talented teams equal to ours and play our best games and again, the losses could have certainly been avoided. GOT to win those close games! Yes, there have been some bone head calls, but MM is still not the one on the field who is turning the ball over, getting flagged for stupid penalties, missing field goals, etc., yet, coaches have to accept the blame, too, for a loss. You win as a team and lose as team from the coaching all the way down the line. I would rather view the glass as half full rather than half empty as far as MM is concerned and give him the benefit of the doubt with the way things have gone this year for us, so I would have to say that I am "cautiously" optimistic about MM. We have an outstanding "young" team with a bright future and NO doubt, Rodgers can lead us to a SB and we're NOT done yet, this year. If we can play the remaining season the way we did last Sunday, we're going to be a very tough team to beat just as we have all year.
