There is no way they are the better team. They barely beat us with our backup QB in, along with our Pro Bowl CB out, and our pass-rush specialist. Not to mention the refs were atrocious.

The Packers defense was absolutely dominated. The Packers lost the battle for the line of scrimmage on both offense and defense. Aaron Rogers was the only reason why the Packers were even in the game in the second half. The Cowboys were crushing the Packers with Favre in.

KGB and Woodson being out definitely hurt the Packers. There was no pass rush against the Cowboys, and Romo took advantage of Woodson being gone.

With a healthy Packers team and Favre bringing his A game, I think these two teams are a push (and I say that as a Cowboys fan). Grant is impressive, as are the very under-rated (nationally at least) Packers receivers.

Prior to the game, I had this for the two teams:
QB - push
RB - significant edge to Cowboys
WR/TE - significant edge to Cowboys
OL - significant edge to Cowboys
DL - push / slight edge to Green Bay
LB - significant edge to Cowboys
DB - slight edge to Green Bay
P/K - edge to Cowboys
ST Cover - edge to Green Bay

post game,
QB - push (Favre had a bad game)
RB - push
WR/TE - push or slight edge to Dallas (GB receivers had a slow start, but I started to cringe in the 2nd half...their YAC is scary)
OL - still significant edge to Dallas
DL - edge to Green Bay
LB - edge to Dallas
DB - edge to Dallas, edge to Green Bay with Woodson in.
P/K - push (Green Bay's kicker rocks)
ST Cover - push

In other words, Green Bay had a worse defense than I expected, but their offense performed a lot better than I expected, especially once Favre went out. It should've been lights out after that, but wasn't. You guys have a very good team, and as young as they are, they will only get better.

Right now these two teams are coin flips talent wise. I feel good about the win, but queasy about a rematch. Good times!

Romo didn't so ****... he had 6 seconds to throw the ball and open receivers regularly. Good god. Big deal, he can smile when then win... whoopey.

He beat a 10-1 team. Don't be bitter. They were the better team tonight. Our young guys were over whelmed for the first part of the game. The o-line played about as bad as you can play for the first quarter. Favre had no time and both his interceptions resulted from great pressure from Dallas defenders. McCarthy made good half time adjustments, and the o line started giving Rodgers some time.

When we are at full strength we can beat this team. We will be ready for them and our players young guys will be ready to play off the get go!

A couple of observations from a biased Cowboys fan:

The Packers made a mistake of trying to attack the Cowboys deep. I think there is this myth that the Cowboys have a really bad secondary. They don't. Roy Williams is really bad at covering, but overall, it's a pretty good unit, especially against the deep ball.

Once Aaron Rogers came in and they started throwing short routes, they started tearing the Cowboys up. Incidentally, this is exactly how England tore up the Cowboys...short slants to Welker and YAC.

When we are at full strength we can beat this team. We will be ready for them and our players young guys will be ready to play off the get go!

Absolutely. These two teams are very evenly matched.

It was strange playcalling on our part at the beginning of the game. I know the reasoning behind those plays are still being debated on this site. The way we played once Rodgers got in was more of what we've been use to seeing so far this season.

EDIT: Woohoo! 525! Finally got my second little helmet!

I cant believe what I'm hearing! You're better than this Packers fans!

Penalties and the refs
The first Pass Interference call was pretty obvious! The second Pass Interferince call could've gone either way, but can any of you honestly tell me that if it was a Packers WR, you wouldn't be screaming for Pass Interference!?

And what makes any of you think y'all would've been able to stop us
from scoring anyway?!? :?: How many times did y'all stop us? Twice... We punted once and we turned it over on downs once. Other than that, we scored on every possesion! Oh yeah, we also lost a TD when TO gift-wrapped that Interception in the endzone! Whatever bad luck you were having tonight, that play made up for it! Dude was wide open, again. Plus, when you allow that many deep passes, the officials are probably gonna give the offense the benefit of the doubt....

What about Bigby's 15-Yard face-mask penalty late in the 4th! That was called correctly, but it came at a horrible time! Just a stupid penalty! Which brings us to Dallas' last drive....... You couldn't stop us there! The game was on the line, and they couldn't stop Marion Barber from running it down their throats! Dallas only threw one pass for 15 yards, the rest was Barber. They knew it was coming, but couldn't stop it until Dallas reached the 7 yard-line and kicked the game clinching FG, with only a minute to play. The refs didn't give us that one.......

Packers had too many penalties tonight, but most (if not all) were legit.

Injuries

Favre's a great QB, but he didn't have it tonight....... Rodgers came in and was much more effective! Not that he's better than the great Brett Favre, but it sure looked like he was on this night. I'd think you'd be happy about Rodgers play, it's a great sign for the Packers future.

KGB - Flozell doesn't give up many sacks anyway. Plus Romo thrives when under pressure. Yours is not the first good pass-rush we've seen this season..... :pop:

Woodson - Woody's a good CB, so is Al Harris. You see what happened to Harris?

You never know what could've happened if there were no injuries...... Terry Glenn's coming off back to back 1000 yard seasons, what if we had him? IMO injuries are just excuses......

Dallas didn't play a perfect game tonight. The Cowboys are the better team! They are the best in the NFC!

There is no doubt about it, Dallas had the better team on the field tonight. We had no answer to their passing game tonight, yes short-handed, but they dominated us in the secondary.

On positive notes.. we played them straight up short-handed and kept pace for the most part. I didn't agree with the 4th and inches (BTW horse-crap spot) and we lost big mo after the TO bobble/ pick.

Williams showed that he should be our nickle back and I believe passed Bush with his play tonight. And Aaron Rodgers showed a ton, the future is bright if he stays in a Packer uni. Huge game for him tonight.

Probably another thread about it, but we came out playing NOT Packer football on offense. Poor start to the game plan, too much vertical game without any threat underneath.

All in all.. we played a decent game and "Never gave up and Never surrendered."

I personally am Proud of the effort that we played with tonight.

Thanks to those of you who are willing to give Dallas some credit. I give the Packers a ton of credit for getting it together and keeping me on the edge of my seat. It was a great game tonight! It pretty much lived up to the hype.

It pretty much played out exactly how I thought it would, except with Rodgers at QB. The future looks bright for the Packers, even after Favre retires..... Rodgers was very impressive! With the youth on your team, the Packers should be contenders for a long while. Not that you're not still contenders this year..... Dallas was better tonight, and IMO they're definitely the better team, but we'll see in January.

Great game! Hope Brett's alright........

As of right now Dallas is the best team in the NFC, however things can change quickly in this league.

If we would have played Dallas in the first couple weeks of the season, we probably would have been beat worse than last night. If we would have played them midseason, we probably would have won.

We will see what happens between now and the playoffs, who is injured and who the 1st round matchups are, and if there is a rematch it would not be at all shocking for the score to be turned around regardless of where the game is played.

While the refs were bad(and they were), they won.

However...if we play them in the playoffs....as we seen tonight, if things go OUR way, things will be a LOT different....

That game was ********.

I've never hoped this before, but if it's the Cowboys as NFC reps, I hope NE crushes them. I've always rooted for the NFC team, but this will be an exception. The Cowboys are officially my most hated team.

Why because they won?

Wow, there is alot of anger on this site. The ONLY reason to get so extremely pissed about last nights game is if the loss for some reason caused the Packers organization to cease to exist. Otherwise, we still have four games to play, and hopefully it will all lead to a rematch with Dallas in the playoffs.

The Cowboys won, which means, they are better. Its really that simple. Like I said in another thread, I hate it when after beating a team, they say, "the better team didn't win." And we can't have it both ways. Give the Cowboys their due credit.

I don't get where all the anger is coming from, and I don't get why some people refuse to give Dallas any credit. The head of NFL officiating said the PI call was correct. He said the call on the TO strip was understandable but incorrect; should have been GB ball. So big deal - you can't blame the officiating for Favre heaving the ball down field on nearly every play, can't blame them for the o-line's play, for the D's failure to pick up TO in the zone's, the d-line's failure to get pressure (not to mention the blitzers).

Personally I think Favre lost his head and abondoned the game plan; he had people open on several plays but either decided to throw deep or didn't have time. Dallas was blitzing and Brett just seemed determined to hit a big play.

GB did not play well; Dallas covered a 7pt spread. We were short handed, but "run whatcha brung," nobody stepped up. We're 10-2 and still have a good shot at playing them again - I hope we're prepared better for round 2.

bottom line is this......on this day Dallas WAS the better team. In the NFL my freinds its any given SUnday. Is Appalachian state a better team than Michigan, of course not. They out played, out hustled, and had more heart on one given day.

Our time will come and we will take no prisoners for the rematch

It's over.
They won.
Onto the Raiders!
We still have business to attend to. This isn't the end of our season.
