I am not saying for sure they would have stopped Flacco yesterday but The Vikings were without Pro-Bowler Antoine Winfield, He is most likely the top tackler in the openfield on the Vikings not to mention a great cover guy got hurt in the 2nd qtr. Also injured in the 2nd qtr and was out was nickleback specialist benny Sapp. I feel better about the Game yesterday knowing that. I have never heard of the guy who replaced Winfield. The play by play guys never mentioned anything and I missed it. I was switching back and forth from the Packer game so I was clueless. Bring on the Steelers! Skol Vikings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh ... you were that "exited" about watching you didn't notice ? :stinker:

Still, while the defense needs to "stay in the game" till the end, it does bode well that the offense is as "potent" as "advertised" ... As long as teams still "insists" on stacking the box with 8-9 - #4 will get plenty of room and chances to find the "ever expanding" receiver corps he has at his disposal ... Think he had completions to 7-8 different receivers ? Including one to AP ... - I'm sure further down the stretch that there will be more passes to AP ...

Would it have made a difference ? Might have, might not have ... - The way Flacco was playing, even while being pounded, suggest he (Flacco - another 2nd year starter btw ...) would have made the throws anyway ...

Even with Winfield out and Benny Sapp the Vikings still managed to win that game, regardless that alot of people say it should have been Ravens that won ... End result was a win ... and when the tally is made going into the play offs few will remember the ugly wins ... but only the final wins vs losses ...

I had a houseful of kids (my 4) plus every kid from down the street so it gets hectic around here. I was switching back in forth from Pack-Lions so I missed it. A win is a win and ol' No. 4 had another come back win so all is good in Viking land!:happy0005: I just want to see 4 qtrs of solid football because at times the Vikes can be very scary for anybody IMO. That is why I said Maybe that wouldn't of matterd with what Flacco was doing but I like my chances better with Sapp and winfield for sure. Injurys are apart of football so I hope to not come off as a whiner.

That's an "easy" fix ... just have both games on, on 2 different screens ! hah (that's what we do here where I am)

Perhaps the Vikings just need to "pursuade" Childress to hold with "Chilly-Ball" untill they are up min. 28 points (and not 14, which seems to be the bar currently LOL) ... Anyways ... judging by some body-language of the players, I think it's "safe" to say that not all players agreed with "reverting" back to the "run-only" attack even while being ahead ...

Do you know if these guys are going to be ready for next week? I didn't know they were injured either.

from what ink I have seen both will be able to go. Winfield is a big part of what they do. That is why they pay him the Big Bucks.

We tape the games so we can watch them after we watch the "main" game heh ... (the day after, because here in Europe it's usually a 6 hour time difference ...)

I wouldn't say the Packers' games have been boring ... "intense" and "nail-biting" yes, but not boring ... Unfortunately most of my friends refuses to watch Packers' game, so it's usually vikings game + chargers (for some reason ... - my friends are "turds" in that regard lol, why they root for the Saints is beyond me ... - because they didn't the last 3 seasons ... >.<)

My best friend is a Bears fan, but since we are (usually) watching the games at my house, I have veto'ed that (/grins evilly) ... all though Cutler is always interesting to watch ... but with Urlacher out ... the Bears have lost alot of "aggressiveness" on their defense ...

Since the games are shown during the night (only the 1.00 pm games are aired at at "normal" time for us - 19.00 local time - Denmark) local time (6 hour time difference) I - fortunately - don't have to "discuss" this, because lets face it ... any man that is married or having a girlfriend is "whooped" (one way or another LOL) and would lose any discussion in that regard ... >.<

Oh no, The packers always put on a nail biter, which is why the shut out this week was boring to me. I got a noise complaint in from my neighbors when we played the vikes. Just this week i found boring cause there were very little big plays and lots of 3 and outs.

I agree. I might be missing out on my Celtics season opener against the hated lecavs because the wife had said she wants to do something that day. Thank God its an 82 gane season. Not too bad to miss a few games, unlike football. But she knows better than to touch that.
