Consider this the "studs and dud" of the entire season.

What did you like the most? What did you hate the most?

Best:

• Efficient Football: The Packers' offense flourished in year two of the system. The Packers have one of the best, young offensive minds in the league, and Rodgers executed it to near perfection. To my knowledge, the 2020 Packers are one of only three teams to average better than 3 points per drive. They integrated their talent beautifully, and became more than the sum of their parts. The way the OL gelled, the way that MVS and Lazard found roles, the way that Tonyan came on. I loved it.

Worst:

• Confirmation Bias: Despite the Packers having the best offense in the NFL and one of the most efficient offenses ever, most threads about the offense eventually turned into the same complaints about them not drafting a wide receiver. You'd think that at a certain point, people would be willing to concede that their draft day prognostications of offensive failure were totally unfounded. The Packers had the pieces to be elite.

Wide Receiver talent is fine whence you factor in ground production and the efficiency of our top 4 targets. Tonyan Lazard and Adams all have a completion percentage solidly above 70% per target. MVS has been shaky at times but he seemed to have turned a corner later in the season. Since Jax his reception to target percentage improved to 60%, a marked improvement given his season long average of 52%. Im excited to see what he does never year.

Best: The team just felt different this year. They felt like a unit. They had each others backs. They seemed to have fun out there. The offense was fun to watch. All the pre-snap motion and spreading the ball out.

Worst: Defensive packages were frustrating at times. The players are good enough, some great even. 3rd down efficiency was infuriating.

Worst: not fixing defensive woes, and not addressing special team problems, not getting enough talent to make it to SB, 1-4

The offense performed at an elite level for most of the season despite a lack of talent at wide receiver. Unfortunately they weren't good enough to overcome the shortcoming to actually reach the goal of making it to the Super Bowl.

The performance of the WRs has nothing to do with us not reaching the Super Bowl. Plethora of factors in Sunday's game hold that responsibility but the WR play if it is on someone's list it is buried well outside the range driven by logic and fact.

I desire an upgrade in the room, most do, but let's not continue to pretend it was the issue or was an issue in 2020 season - did we dodge that bullet being an issue? I'd argue yes as well.

MVS's actual catchable balls hauled in went up considerably during that stretch as well - not just his target to catch %, which as you noted got to that magical 60% figure not many field stretcher type guys reach.

Best: The fact we did not suffer from lacking a WR room upgrade. Arguably this bullet was dodged by the high play out of the RB room as well as the explosion of Tonyan's play.

Worst: Insert exact thing Dantes said + shoutbox on game days. LOL

It's so funny to me that after posting this, posters immediately jump into the thread to give a perfect illustration of exactly what I'm talking about.

The only way one could watch Sunday's game and decide that the WR position cost the Packers the game (not the officiating, not the protection, not the turnovers-- wide receivers) is if one decided beforehand that they were going to come to that conclusion, regardless of what actually happened.

MVS had 4/115/1 on 6 targets.

Lazard had 3/62, and would have had more if the Bucs were allowed to hold where the Packers were not. Lazard was also wide, wide open for a TD on the 3rd and Goal that went incomplete to Adams at the back of the endzone.

So like I said, Confirmation Bias was easily the most annoying part of 2020-- people pretending to be objective but just cramming everything that happens into the narrative they conceived on April 23, 2020.
