Should the Packers keep Dom Capers, or should they hire a defensive genius in Lovie Smith? Just something to think about. Give me your thoughts.

I dunno does Lovie coach the 3-4 defense? If so, I'd take him in a second.

This would be an excellent example of: "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"

No he doesn't. Bears are the only team to never have run a 3-4 defense according to Wikipedia.

Unfortunately Wikipedia is not infalible, but I'm inclined to run with it since I don't have intimate knowledge of the entirety of Da Bears' team history.

Yeah I know it isn't but not knowing much besides they do a lot of cover 2, that was the only one that specifically said they don't run 3-4.

Capers. We don't have the personnel for 4-3.

Not one of the new 3-4 where everybody expects the DL to rush the passer, but we run a traditional 3-4 where we expect our DL to stop the run, and have purposely built that way.

Hiring Lovie would mean a complete defensive overhaul. That better not happen.

Agreed. We committed to the 3-4, let's stick with it. If that means bringing in another 3-4 DC to run things so be it but stick with the plan.

Neither. How about a guy no ones talking about like Romeo Crennel? was a heck of a defensive coach in New England, who btw did run some 3-4 as well as 4-3. I would like to see this team run some hybrid defenses once in a while.

Idk man, he's not off to a good start after being fiered twice already. Some guys are better co-ordinators, and i think he's one of those guy's.

I think he took over bad situations and never got a decent chance.
