they also mentoined how the refs basically handed the packers 14 pts...the packers were out played and out coached by the better team...not much else to say.

Only an idiot could think the Giants are a better team. The Packers just didnt come to play! Go back to your inflatable girlfriend!

Congratulations to THE NY GIANTS. Went into Lambeau and beat up the Packers. Your team played a great game.

In hindsight it was a mistake to shuttle Clifton and Newhouse in and out of lineup. Stick with Newhouse if Clifton can't play whole game. The players or coaches won't admit it but this team offensively had lost totally the edge they had been playing with. No it wasn't because of Rodgers extra time off, it was the disruption of attending wake and funeral over two day span and the mental toll that was placed on close knit unit.

Wasn't meant to be. Not truly upset either. The Giants seemed hungrier and better all around. More physical. Just wanted it.

Better luck next year. I also kinda feel the Giants are the team of destiny again like in 2007, but this might be a better version.

Hi 5's to all NYG fans here - sorry GB, as good as our D has been playing the secondary was the weakness until tonight when they had their best game to date.

Hats off to GB - a true football town - on to San Fran.

The Giants were fortunate to catch the Packers on a "D-Minus" day. Normally, a performance that mediocre by the Giants' offensive line would sink them against a quality team.

What went wrong? Rust? Philbin? Who knows? The last time the Giants had the #1 seed in the NFC, three years ago, they pulled a rock at home. These things just happen sometimes.

Anyway, we'll see you next year. Rodgers and Manning are two of the best. As long as they're both healthy, these two teams will be in the mix.

I do think Michael Philbin's death did take a toll mentally. Look at how the offensive players struggled. Joe Philbin is the OC. Not a coincidence. I remember when Tony Dungy's son committed suicide and then the Colts had to play a game the Sunday after it happened. They also came out not mentally prepared and lost the game. You can't drop 8 to 10 balls and then fumble 3 (really 4) times and expect to win the game. Plus that Hail Mary TD pass was indicative of our D's inability to stop big plays all season long.

I brought this up briefly when Philbin's son died but did not want to dwell on it. As a fan of both teams I did not want to think it could happen again. Those Colts were awesome. 14-2 and many said they would win the SB. It might have been the best Colts team I ever saw. The death of James Dungy sucked a lot of the spirit. Also Peyton was rested far too long. The passing game was taken out of sync.

I always told Colts fans not to use this as an excuse though. The hungrier and more physical Steelers won the game. They then went onto win the SB and I sense almost deja vu with the Giants. Also the refs were on the Colts side vs. the Steelers. They tried to help the Colts win and after the game Peyton was blamed for the loss even though he was pounded most of the game.

A year later though the Colts won the SB as a lesser regular season team. Maybe the Packers can do the same.

great point...like most on here you are foolish when it comes to knowing what ur watching on sunday...but please continue to make random insults.

If it were random or foolish the Packers would not have beaten the Giants in the regular season nor won 15 games in a season.

Please contiue to show you have no idea what your talking about and only on another teams forum being a troll!

Sorry I am late coming in here, but I needed some time to calm down. That game was intense and heart breaking. Congrats to the Giants and their fans. They brought it and the Packers did not. Simple as that. Our offense was off from the beginning and never settled into a rhythm. Our D made some stops but it was not enough. Eli is lethal on 3rd down convos. The Packers had too many dropped balls and turnovers. Giants fans, do you think your team has been sized for Superbowl rings? I don't think it's all that presumptuous. I think you can get past San Fran as you have both the offense and defense while San Fran only has the D. Alex Smith is no Eli Manning. The Giants are my pick for the Superbowl. I think you guys can make a real run at either the Pats or Ravens and you can beat either team. Again, congrats on the win, you outplayed us. Enjoy your win and the road to the Superbowl.

As for the Packers, I'm saddened by this loss, it hurts even worse knowing we have a team that can not only contend with the team that beat us but beat them. I'd like to say we beat ourselves and we did on many levels but I will not take away from what the Giants did today. Until next year, beloved Pack. Love you always and I'll always believe.

Bottom Line:

We all knew it.

1) The defense wasn't good enough.

2) It hasn't been all year.

In fact, according to Joe Buck, the Packers gave up more passing yardage this year than any team in NFL history... yikes.

My number one priority wish for the Pack = an aggressive big, mean, fast middle linebacker and at least 2 fast, big, mean,
strong DEs who can rush the QB.

Forget Capers and his gimmick blitzes. Smoke and mirrors aren't going to turn AJ Hawk into Lawrence Taylor. We need new talent.

I'm not feeling too bad about this loss. Time to face facts about the defense. We need better guys...

If we had won and ultimately faced a guy like Belichek....what do you think the odds would be that he couldn't find out our defense's every weakness and exploit them fully to the max with Brady?

They made a good point on the radio postgame show…why do you play your best if not to get that bye going into the first round of the playoffs? The goal is to win, plain and simple. We are a victim of our own success.

Many people will spin it a certain way and say that Rodgers and company, all those that rested, were too rusty going into this one and in my opinion, they would be right. But if that’s true, then it’s damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

You try to be hot at the end, but whoever has the wildcard and has a victory going into the divisional round is going to have that hot streak going for them. I guess the solution going forward is to hang onto Flynn, who is a great backup as we saw in the finale against the Lions, and you go all out in that game and try to build on the momentum when you’ve got with Rodgers as the starter.

Trying to understand this loss. If the guys were playing their finest today, I just didn’t see it. I felt that we were *very* flat in this one, just no heart and it seems like the fans who attended this game deserve a refund. The Packers have one of the most dedicated fanbase in the world of sports, and I feel we were cheated by the lack of effort tonight.

They are who we thought they were…I’m sorry to say that any team could have beat this squad today. Just not enough effort; too many drops, too much rust on Rodgers, poor coaching decisions and terrible clock management. They had more than enough time to prepare, and perhaps that was the problem. Maybe we need that underdog mentality to propel us forward.

Man this sucks. Guess we have to draft heavily on the defensive side moving forward. What do you all think?

the Pats, 9ers, and Ravens didn't look rusty this weekend. Just my opinion, it's your team, feel free to think how you'd like, but drops are not a new problem for you guys. Most of you mentioned it during the week. Drops are no different than having a guy who doesn't run disciplined routes, or who sometimes misses assignments. It's a weakness in a players game. I'm pretty sure the Giants lead the NFL in drops this year, so trust me, I have experience here.

Kudos to the Giants this weekend for their great play against us, they played a great game and deserve this win. They have all my best going forward, I loved their superbowl win a few years ago and hope for another :D
