I really don't think this would be good for his health.

He's only going to be more sore after playing the pack!!

Maybe the Giants are just trying to be "sneaky" and make the Pack think Eli may play???

Well, would it behoove the Giants to play Manning? With the Packer Defense, especially their pass rush, what coach would put in their injured QB in the game? IF Manning ONLY has a bruised shoulder, what will he have after the Packer line gets a hold of him?

We were one of the best pass rushing teams in the NFL last year and if McNabb had not been as mobile as he is he goes down at least five times.

It's up to you New York, Neeww Yoooooooork!

Smoke and mirrors on the Giants part... if his shoulder is hurting, they are not going to risk the development, time and money in this kid..

The Giants ship has so many holes in it... not even a cork the size of the Titantic could save it... start swimming boys to the first pick of the draft... it is you, Chiefs and the Fins that will be competing for the first pick...

Maybe the Falcons too..

I can't imagine he's going to play. If a separation occurred at all, the last thing you want to do is have him out there winging the ball around and straining that joint. He could cause some scarring or semi-permanent damage to his throwing shoulder that way.

I wouldn't imagine it much matters. I think Kampman was extremely ticked off at how many sacks he could have had and I'm sure as the sun is bright that he's going to blow up against the Giants even if their QB weighs more than him.

I expect a helluva game. I predicted back in May we'd lose this game, I wish I could change that. I'm thinking we will bust them up. I don't think their defense is as good as the Eagles and to me, that translates into points for us.

Especially since Greg Jennings WILL be playing. I watched his interview, he could have played, he was frustrated by it. He knew he was a big cog in that game and the coach made a wise decision (we can say it was wise now because we won) and held him out.

Next week we will have Driver, Jennings and Jones.

Mortenson confirmed that it's a separated shoulder. He says Eli thinks he's ok but doctors say otherwise.

Brett had a separated shoulder once. He finished the game and played the following game as well.

Here is an article from ESPN:

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has a slightly separated shoulder which is expected to keep him out at least a month, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Monday.

Doctors told the team that Manning does not need surgery, but the quarterback will get a second opinion from orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala.

Manning and coach Tom Coughlin denied that the quarterback had a separated shoulder.

"I don't know where that report comes from. I don't know where the information supposedly was found," Coughlin said, adding "We are just going to have to see how it is -- whether he can practice and play on a daily basis."

As for the month, Coughlin responded, "Quite frankly, if it is not possible this week, then it will be another week."

It was feared that Manning also had torn his labrum in Sunday night's 45-35 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but an MRI determined that was not the case, sources said.

Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon said that Manning suffered a contusion of the AC joint and he is day-to-day.

Hanlon added: "Don't be shocked if you see him playing on Sunday."

A Giant Loss

Week 1 of the '07 season was definitely no treat for the Giants. Now, they face the possibility of being without Eli Manning for the next four. Luckily for New York, three of those games are at home.

Manning also downplayed the injury on Monday.

"It's just a bruised shoulder," he said. "It's just a little sore right now."

Top defensive player, end Osi Umenyiora, and the Giants' new starting running back, Brandon Jacobs also left the game on Sunday -- with knee injuries. And backup cornerback Kevin Dockery left the game late in the third quarter with a right ankle injury.

The Giants announced on Monday that Umenyiora has an irritation to the lateral meniscus of his left knee. His status is also day-to-day and he will be re-evaluated later in the week.

Jacobs sprained the MCL of his right knee, the team said. He will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.

The results of the MRI on Dockery's ankle were not available as of 5 p.m. on Monday.

Manning threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Derrick Ward with 7:20 left that got New York within 38-28. He was hurt on the failed two-point conversion attempt when he was hit by linebacker Anthony Spencer.

Manning followed with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress, their third connection of the night, to make it 38-35.

After Dallas scored again, Manning didn't return.

Manning's shoulder will be iced and get electrical stimulation over the next two days. The Giants start practicing for the Packers on Wednesday.

"Everything is probably as good as it can be from the test results," Manning said of the injury to the top of his shoulder. "It's just a matter of when do you have the strength and when do you feel you can throw it full strength, and you'll be out there playing."

Jared Lorenzen, who finished up in the Giants' final series, will start if Manning can't go Sunday.

Derrick Ward will start for Jacobs with Reuben Droughns getting more time as his backup. The Giants are considering moving linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka back to defensive end if Umenyiora takes a while to heal.

To bolster their depleted roster, on Monday the Giants signed tackle Russell Davis, a nine-year veteran who has played for Chicago, Arizona and Seattle.

Davis, 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, was most recently with the Seahawks, who released him on Sept. 4. He has played in 104 games with 83 starts and recorded 348 tackles (212 solo), 11½ sacks, nine passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

My philosophy is if either of the QB is a scrambler, then adjust the gameplan.

Lorenzen and Manning don't run. We're playing each guy the same way.

Latest word that I have heard is that he's day to day after the 2nd opinion told him it was just a bruised shoulder.

From what I gathered, it's gonna be up to Eli to decide if it hurts too bad to start or not.

Knowing the NY media, there'll be a whole lotta pressure on him to 'man up'.

And, knowing his coach, he'll probably push him to play through it.

And, knowing our defense, we'll probably (regrettably) end his season.

I heard on the radio that the Giants made contact with the Browns and tried to get Charlie Fyre. You have to wonder if that has to do with Manning's shoulder. That didn't get him but they did try so something could be to that.

It is interesting to note that Eli has never missed a start in his football career (highschool, college, and his pro career thus far).

Adam Schefter (who seems to never be wrong) said what he sensed from his sources close to Eli was that he had a bruised shoulder, and would be out for this week against the Packers, but then could be ready to go any week after that depending on how he responded to treatment.

I agree Adam does seem to always be right, where as Chris Mort was the one that said..

Vick will NOT be charged

No matter either way. Bring on Eli to give us a better QB to practice against. Our defense is poised for a big game. Our offense still needs to come together, but I think the OL will be the critical part of making that happen on Sunday.

GO PACK GO!!!

Worst case scenario for the Packers.... Eli starts with a sore shoulder.

pretty good news no matter what. for us that is.

Best case scenario for the Packers..... Jared Lorenzen eats his usual breakfast (which includes 8 10oz ribeyes, 10 eggs, 32 strips of bacon, 2 corndogs, cotton candy, 2 bags of salt and vinegar pork rinds, 1 loaf of buttered toast, 6 glasses of OJ, and a low fat power bar) and he starts sunday as the least mobile qb of all time. its gonna be great seeing the spider monkey chase him around hanging on him like a lion killing an elephant.
