NFL 2024 Playoff Predictions - Championship Sunday

It's getting down to the nitty gritty with only three games remaining to determine an NFL champion. Even more exciting (perhaps) is the opportunity to show that you are a champion NFL picker. So far, our best playoff picker is named after a park in Melbourne (There's one in Auckland too). Can Albert Park be caught? Anyone can still win this thing.

All are welcome to play!!

If you guess the correct individual team score, regardless of correct winner: 5 points each
If you pick correct winner on at least half the games scheduled for the week: 50 points
If you nail it on both games: 100 points
If you guess both the correct winner and score of any game: 125 bonus points tacked on for each correct game.

** ALL submissions must be entered prior to the first game of the weekend, no late entries.

There were a couple of interesting conference championship games. Albert Park went 2-0 to stretch his lead to 100 points in our contest. Poppa San also picked the two winners. Voyaguer unfortunately went into full Dan Campbell mode and suffered an 0-2 setback. Everyone else got one out of two correct. I couldn't see that there were any correct scores picked. Just one big game left now.

Too many variables, but again, this is a tired old guy talking here.

They burned us with crap the year before and Campbell figured "what the hell...let's make 'em look stupid". Thing is, again my opinion, the unpredictable can become predictable. Football isn't baseball - there's a ton of difference between a pitcher/batter matchup and making 22 cats walk a straight in a football game. Just too many variables.

More than generic analytics it comes down to how good your offense is vs. your opponent's defense. Throw in whether the game is at home or on the road along with the climatic and field conditions. Every game you play is not the same as all the others. If Campbell is playing the game at home against a sub par defense the odds are very good. He is on the road against the 9ers. Not the same. What were the odds of Starr sneaking for the TD in the Ice Bowl vs. Doomsday rather than bringing in the FG unit? Lombardi was prepared to take the heat.
