pyle, you have a bad habit of putting words in peoples' mouths that serve your position.

In my few posts regarding Moss, I was pretty ambivalent about the matter. My primary position was acknowledgement of his skills, and the fact that if he was brought in, I was confident that TT, McCarthy and possibly Brett had thoroughly vetted him and in doing so would be a great addition. That said, I generally like the WRs we already have.

I cannot speak for or about others, but you are reaching on my outlook about Moss.

As far as the 4th rounder, I believe all this discussion is based on an article by Vandermuse that has since been proven wrong.

No but I get sick of the flip flopping. I can dig up posts if need be where you say Moss would be a nice addition. Alot of people did. Now all of the sudden we don't land him and that was a "smart move" as well.

I'm sorry but if you are just going to blindly back every move Ted makes, what's the sense of giving your opinion on anything. Why discuss anything? Why not just say "I have pure faith in Ted". Of course that would be dumb as without opinions and different point of views Internet Forums would be mundane.

All I would like is some consistency. If signing Moss was a BRILLIANT MOVE 3 weeks ago than not landing him was BONEHEADED now. I'm not trying to start an argument but when people flip-flop so much it makes thier point seem invalid and shaded.

I wanted Moss for a 4th. But not for 9.5 mill a year. If they couldn't get it done they couldn't get it done. This blame game and hatred is hilarious, especially considering that TT isn't the only guy giving input on the matter. I was under the impression that Harlan was adamantly opposed to Moss coming to GB. And I don't think they could get him to renegotiate. Water under the bridge.

Personally, I'm not at all upset. I never wanted Moss here in the first place. Who in the world honestly wants some ******* who wiped his @$$ on our goalposts?!?!

Let the pathetic lazyboy, crybaby walk away from his team in NE during the last play of the game. Let him destroy the Patriots' locker room. Keep that attitude away from our young, developing team! I'll take the character, production and dedication of Donald Driver!
Moss
2003 rec/TDs: 111/17
2004 rec/TDs: 49/13
2005 rec/TDs: 60/8
2006 rec/TDs: 42/3
DD
2003 rec/TDs: 52/2
2004 rec/TDs: 84/9
2005 rec/TDs: 86/5
2006 rec/TDs: 92/8

Which WR is getting better with age? Which player would you rather have teaching our young talent how to be a professional?

GO PACK GO!!!

There has been more that has come out since questioning more than a poor offense for Moss' showing the last couple of years. There are those that say he is definately NOT the player he was and has not cared for himselp physically like he should.

Your numbers reflect that.

I was for Moss but the let down would be greater if he HAD come to GB only to find out he's past his prime and all the hype was for nothing. Missing out sucks but that would have really sucked.

Moss is a Patriot. Who cares.

Probably Brett Favre and any FA who will ever think about signing here.

and Certainly not Ted Thompson

Yes, next off season free agents are going to think 'Damn ... GB? nah Moss didn't go there even though he's in his thirties (Just 30, dont mean to make it sound like hes OLD)

ya know what, nevermind ur too ignorant to understand the point

If the Packers make the playoffs this year, no free agent worth wearing a Packers uniform is going to use Moss NOT coming here as part of his decision process.

You really make this site lame, PLEASE STAY HERE!!

The sorry part of this whole thing is this.......

Randy is looking at the Packer fans like a ***** from high school.

Moss is in New England, he has a serious shot at a ring and he can sit back and smile about the fact that Packer fans wanted him.

Randy is thinking.... Man even though I smacked that ***** (Pcker Fans), I still could have laid her last week. She wanted me even though I treated her like ****.

Even though I treated her (Packer Fans.) like **** she ended up sucking up to me come prom time. The hell with that *****.... I am going to the Prom with a chick that has a chance to be Prom Queen. (New England.)

Do Not feel bad Packer Fans.... The man sucked me in TWICE. I hated him when he was a Viking, loved him when he came to the Raiders, then I hated him when he was a Raider, then I fell in love with him again at the thought of him catching passes from Brett.

The man is a Male ****.

Let us all just forget about it. And never mention it again. PLEASE

R.P.

edit: the word ***** was used for effect. please change it to chick, woman, lady or female if you chose. I only use the word ***** becuase that is what I read he called the Traffic Control Officer in MN.

I'm gonna tell you what happened. I figured it out tonight. Moss's first choice was New England, second Green Bay. The trade was contingent on him renegotiating his contract with GB, and GB was willing to part with the 4th, but not until Moss worked out the money. So Moss stalled to give his top choice, New England, time to make an offer. He would have been willing to renegotiate with us, but he put it off so that he could go to the Pats.

There, all the pieces fit.

From a person on another forum who has proven to know what he is talking about..

He DID offer a 4th....then was informed that Randy was no longer willing to restructure....at that point, he dropped his offer to a 5th.

I would have pulled the offer alltogether.

Giving $9.5 mil in 07 and $10.5 mil in 08 to Moss would have been an unmitigated disaster. The only way this would have worked out is if Moss ripped up his deal and redid a 1-year with incentives. Otherwise, the moment he got fewer catches than DD or Jennings, he would have just shut it down and there would be nothing GB can do. Once the first game starts, all $9.5 mil of Moss' salary was guaranteed. There's a very good chance we would have "TO part 2" on our hands at some point during the season.

I know we all want to win at all costs, but the potential damage to a primarily young team of Moss pulling his Oakland stunt if we started out slow would be extremely risky. Atleast with a 1-year with incentives he wouldn't get any money unless he kept behavior in line. Without it, we would have gotten hosed at some point.

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed in TT that he was willing to create that kind of situation even for a 5th rounder.

Yeah, I'm surprised they offered the 5th rounder too. I guess it shows how serious they were about bringing him in.

I wonder how many help desk people he's called asking how to find out if his internet hard drive is failing or not.
