He will need the Steelers D to wreck havoc this week.
Interestingly enough. While the Steelers Defense ranks just tied (Vikings) for 17th in points allowed? that will still be the toughest Defense Chicago has faced this year. We can see what a Vikings pedestrian Defense did last week to Chicagos Powerful Offense. It took Chicago every last second to muster 19 points. From Pittsburgh on out the Defenses Chicago faces will become more normalized to good. Still no top tier units, but all average to above average.
Pitt (17th) Philly (8th) GB (7th) Cleveland (18th) GB (7th) SF (13th) Detroit (10th)

Chicago’s Real-Time SOV of beating bottom dweller teams ranks #31 leaguewide at a combined .279 Win record. The average ranked Defenses Chicago has played to date have a combined points allowed ranking of 27th. Going forward and starting with Pittsburgh, Chicago faces a group of Defenses with an average combined ranking of 11th

Part of their winning even against some of these feeders has been ST. They beat the Raiders with a blocked kick. They ran a kick off back against the Vikings and Santos went 4-5 on FGs. They also have forced turnovers. Their one really bad game was against Detroit. And the Lions can do that if they are on their game.

He got CLOBBERED on the sack (+ scoop and score TD) that gave him that busted nose. I was shocked he came back into the game after that point

I caught the presser after the game. He was super surly with the reporters, who didn't back off with some hard questions. He also threw his team under the bus saying they didn't practice well and weren't on the same page during plays, etc. A-Rod even gave a "come on, you expect me to answer that?" As well as a few expletives along the way. Tensions are high in Steeler country and Rodgers has once again become the center of drama for a football team. Tomlin, who looks like he has aged 10 years, even stormed out of the presser after he was asked about his future in Pittsburgh.

This one shocked me yesterday. I haven't paid a ton of attention to the steelers much this year but he looked to have aged a TON from what I remembered lol

Yup, he's a lot bigger and the bags under his eyes were popping out.

This is Tomlin before they signed Rodgers: :coffee:

Did anyone here see his postgame presser last night? He was asked about Tomlin and he couldn't understand why folks want to run Tomlin and his former HC out of town on a rail. He said LaFleur specifically calling him a great HC. I guess they did part on amicable terms.
Hopefully this is his last year. Maybe he's thinking about returning to Lambeau and retiring a Packer.

He said a few months ago he intends to retire a Packer when his playing career is over. Lemme track down the quote…

"I was there for 18 years. Regardless of when I hang it up, that's the bulk of my career. I'll retire a Packer and see what happens after that. I've got a lot of love for the organization and my time there. They asked this week is it a revenge game or whatever. What do I got to be avenging here? They made me a ton of money. I grew up there, spent some of the best years of my life there. I've got nothing but love for the organization."

“…that's why I feel so good about my time there because damn near everything great in my life is because of my football career, and my football career starts and will end one day with Green Bay. I've got a lot of love for those memories and a lot of great friends that I still carry with me to this day."

Yeah he'll retire as a Packer and get his name in the ring of honor at Lambeau. He got a little whacky the last few years, but not nearly enough to overshadow his great play for close to 18 years. One of a kind and we were lucky to get to see him play.

I wonder if Rodgers would make a decent coach for someone, if he put his mind to it? He's a bright guy.
Oh I think he’d be good in X and O’s but not sure if there would be personality conflicts there.

Might be a mute point also. Rodgers has made it clear that he wants to largely “Disappear” from the limelight once he retires.

Might get bored.
After spending the entire last half of his life playing as an NFL quarterback, and lauded as one of the widely accepted truly great quarterbacks in the history of the game, I would imagine anything short of joining the Blue Angels or being an astronaut leading a Mars mission would be somewhat boring. But he's going to have to do something with the rest of his life, or he's going to drive his poor wife nuts around the house.

So he'll just have to accept the reality that anything he does for the rest of his life will be relatively boring in comparison, so he'll just have to pick something that he loves enough, and in which he finds enough value and passion, that he can be happy doing it. I don't think going the Brady/Aikman/Romo route would be his cup of tea; he'd have a hard time being diplomatic every single minute of a broadcast - but I can see him working as a coach. He knows a ton, and loves the game and day to day life of the NFL. He'd sure as hell command the respect of the players.

If that was the last game he ever plays in the NFL, I feel badly that his career ended that way. I really do hope he goes for one more season; it was pretty impressive that he came from that major injury and played at the high level he did. I'd love one more year of watching him slice and dice defensive backfields.

I hope he's got one more in him. I don't know.... I have very little to base it on; much of what he said made it sound like he'd be done. But with Pittsburgh managing to sneak into the playoffs...and then promptly getting bounced, part of me wonders if that wasn't the push to keep it going for one more... And I would hope that his career didn't end like that, either. I'm not sure where would be a good fit right now though.

Broadcasting or commentary or whatnot doesn't seem like a good fit for me. He is absolutely 100% smart enough to do it - and I think it would be fascinating to listen to, the guy has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things football - but he's also a guy with strong opinions who doesn't care to toe the company line at times, which is not exactly what the league wants in the booth, haha.

Personally, I'd prefer Rodgers retire. He's clearly past his prime, and I don't see what he's going to accomplish. But whatever, it's up to him. If that's what he wants to do, more power to him.

Regarding Rodgers: on this day in 2015, Rodgers was awarded the second of his four career MVP awards
