Looks like a Packer fan has a chance to win a pretty sweet contest so instead of posting messages all over the place, I will make something sticky here so we can have some updates in our face at all times.

Here is a little bit of information from My Official Packer Blog:

Allow me to introduce you to Aretina. Hot, yes? Would you like to do Aretina a favor? Of course you would.

Aretina's sister, Linda, got ahold of me last night in the hopes that she could get the word out to Packer fans to get them to vote for her. What you're voting on is something to do with Monster.com Fandemonium, and then Linda sent me the picture and all I heard was blah-blah-blah-warmbrowneyes-blahblah-prettysmile-blah-blah-petitelittlething. Then I said "uh, what? Were you saying something? Post a picture or words and Aretina would kiss the monitor and pretend it was me as a thank you? Yeah, I'll do that."

So here's what you need to do right now. Visit this link and cast your vote for Aretina.

Now you may be a skeptic like I am and want proof that she's actually a Packer fan and not some adorable little thing just asking for your vote. So I asked for proof. And I got proof:

So drop your, uh…you know, just hold onto that and navigate with your other hand to the link above and cast your vote. Advanced warning: that site is powered by a three-legged gerbil, so you'll need to invest a few minutes to cast the vote. But just look at those brown eyes. They want you to be patient.
So what do we need to do? Visit the following link and vote for her ONCE a day:

Pretty simple stuff but cool for the Packer community to come together and promote one of our own. GO PACK GO!

Update from Aretina:

Hey all Packer-backers!

I am a finalist in the next Director of Fandemonium contest being sponsored by the NFL and Monster.com. I'm representing the Green Bay Packers because I grew up in Wisconsin and they are my favorite team (there is no other team like the packers)!

Winner Gets the Following:

  • To be involved in the coin toss at the Superbowl
  • Call a play at the Probowl
  • Name a player at the NFL Draft
  • $100,000
Last week I found out I was in the "top 8" in the contest so I was flown out to New York, where I will be interviewed by Sterling Sharpe!!!! I'm so excited, I can barely stand it.

I'm currently in 3rd place and need all the Packer support I can. So please take a moment to vote for your fellow cheesehead at the link below and let's show the world why Packer fans are the best fans in the NFL! Voting is daily and every time you vote, you are automatically entered to win a trip to the Superbowl!

3rd place is not good enough people! We need to help her get 1st place!

As I mentioned earlier, I'm in the top 8 for the next director of Fandemonium contest and I've been in New York competing this week. I wanted to share with you what I did today as part of the competition...

I woke up at 6:45 and met the other contestants down in the hotel lobby. We were then taken to another location where we were greeted by the Monster.com folks. They gave us a duffle bag of goodies and a camera crew and we then were to hit the streets of New York to show that we have what it takes to be the next director of Fandemonium. So from about 7am until 4:30 pm, this is exactly what I was doing. Let me just give you the run down on some of the things I did:

- Got a crowded subway to show their love of football and cheer for me. (note: This is extremely hard in the morning when you New Yorkers are trying to get to work)
- Had a group of ladies in times square show their team spirit by saying heeeeeyyyy, hoooooo, hey ho, hey ho and then do a touchdown dance with me.
- I mimed a bunch of classic football poses in Times Square
- I blew my whistle at the Rockfeller Center and did a cheerleading chant.
- I got about 15 people to do the wave with me in front of the plaza
- I kicked a football barefoot through a two-person human goal post in Central Park.
- I played catch with people riding in a hansom cab (that's a horse and buggie)
- I interviewed tons of football fans about their favorite teams and got them to do silly football stunts with me.
- I threw a penalty flag at George Washington on Wall Street for unsportmanlike conduct (he wasn't wearing a football helmut)
- I got the statue of liberty to hold a football for me (she was very friendly and a bit smaller than what most people are used to, but still the statue of liberty is a football fan!)
- I interviewed Santa about his love for football and the fact that he plans to give all the little girls and boys football gear for gifts this christmas.
- I imitated the Monster mascot in front of the Wallstreet bull.
- I organized a tailgate party, where we all ate cheese and talked about being cheeseheads.

And the list goes on people!!!!! If this doesn't show you that I have what it takes to be the next Director of Fandemonium, I don't know what does!!!!!! I had an awesome time, a great camera crew, and I know now more than ever just how much I want to win this job opportunity of a lifetime. So keep voting DAILY everyone at the following link:

Sterling Sharpe and the Boardroom

Here's a little note on my last day competing in New York to be the Next Director of Fandemonium....

Friday morning I woke up and got dressed in my best suit and prepared to go to my board room interview. The boardroom had been hyped up all week and was being called the "lion's den". So obviously, I was extremely nervous and excited to see what was going to happen. At about 8:45 am, the Monster.com folks escorted me from the hotel to the Monster.com offices. Once I got there I had my make up professionally done and a camera man hooked me up with a microphone in preparation for my first interview with Scott Caan. Scott asked me how I was feeling - and I could easy sum that up by saying nervous, super excited, and nervous! LOL - My stomach was in knots!

Then I was taken to the boardroom where I met a Monster.com executive, NFL executive, Sterling Sharpe, and Jerome Bettis. Let me just say - Jerome and Sterling were both much bigger in person than they even look on tv!!! I felt pretty tiny compared to them. :) They asked a variety of questions about football, me, and my personality - some that I answered better than others. Overall, I think the interview really well, given that there were tons of people in the room, I was surrounded by cameras and bright lights, and I was exhausted from the week's activities!

At the end of the interview, Sterling Sharpe gave me a big hug (this was probablly the highlight of the day!!!) AND I got his autograph. I was so stoked because Sterling rarely ever signs autographs so it is something I will probably cherish forever! Then, he took me back to the entourage room and got me Jerome's autograph as well! Pretty awesome..

When it was all over, I sighed a big sigh of relief and met with some of the other contestents for a martini and then I was on a flight back to Portland! (and then turned around the next day for a flight to Wisconsin!)

My experience in this contest and in New York is something I will probably remember forever! Even if I don't win the grand prize, I still got a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet some football greats (Sterling Sharpe!!!!!) and a free trip to the greatest city in the world! It has all been pretty amazing and I am really grateful for everyone who's voted and got me in the top 8. Thanks so much - I wish you all happy holidays!

PS - don't forget to vote for me daily!!! Let's show why Packer Fans are the best fans in the NFL!!!!!
