Yes sports fans, I've already done my first mock for next year. This is based on needs and best available at those positions. As I'm typing this I'm looking up these players. I suspect when I do a mock in October the names will change based on production, and who I have and haven't seen. Shall we start?

Pick 59: LJ Martn RB BYU: Lotta letters there boys and girls. He's 6'2 220. He looks more like a Dennis Gentry type RB that switches to WR that played for the Bears in the late 80's. I like the pick for both positions, but he's listed by profootballnetwork.com as a RB so he's being drafted as a RB

Pick 91: Kyngston Villamu-Asa LB Notre Dame: He's listed by both ESPN and Notre Dame at 6'3 230. A touch light for ILB think we can add a few pounds onto him and keep up his level of play. Watched a 2025 highlight vid. The downside is that in coverage his ability to diagnose/pursue is average at best. Working with Edgerrin Cooper should bring this up. They used him inside in a 3-4 as well as outside in a 4-3 set off the corner. He causes chaos in the running and passing game (Mostly when blitzing against the pass) He's a backwards linebacker meaning if he hits you YOU go backwards.

Pick 126: Drew Azzopardi T Washington: 6'7 315. I love the 6'7 I think we need the 315 to be north of 325. Large human being. UNTIL Morgan proves he's the guy at LT, he's not the guy. As of right now, need pick. This may change by October.

Pick 127: Julian Sayin QB Ohio State: 6'1 208. Small for a QB but good decision making. Quality backup for 10 years, more of a Ryan Fitzpatrick guy that could also bring a team from the current to the future guy. Green Bay takes him he's Love's back up for a few years before moving on. I also like the idea of taking a camp arm like we did when McCarthy, Holmgren and co. were running things.

Pick 134: Hollywood Smothers RB Alabama by way of Texas I think?: They haven't told me if he's gonna have his banjo or not. (Sorry horrible 80's kid humor). 5'11 195. Scat back type guy, pass catcher. I see maybe a former Packers great Vai Sikkehema or maybe a Dave Meggett type career here. Something we can use. I took best available at this pick.

Pick 135: Santana Hopper DL North Carolina State: Some confusion on this pick the draft simulator has him mixed up with a womens volleyball player from Colorado. 6'2 265. I think this guy is a JJ Enagbare type long EDGE than a DE.

Pick 165: Griffin Wilde WR Northwestern: 6'2 200. I see him as a last WR on the team guy. Possibly the Billy Schroeder role in the 90's where he also returned punts.

Pick 166: Ja`son Prevard CB Kansas State: 6'2 199. Like the measurables. Would have to see him play or get a 40 time before locking in this pick. CB is gonna be a need for the next 2 years.

Pick 172: James Smith DT Alabama: 6'3 and depending on who you believe either 297 or 310. If he's 297 I have no problem making him a DE as Rashawn Gary was as a rookie. If 310 he might be able to slide inside.

Pick 206: Carson Hinzman C Ohio State: 6'5 300. Wisconsin kid. Big game experience with the Buckeyes. I think until we all see the O-Line this year we won't know if we need this pick in 2027 or not. Again willing to walk this back or push it forward depending on what the player shows as well as the roster.

Pick 214: Eddy Pierre-Louis G Oklahoma: 6'3 315. Road grader. OU's interior O-Lineman are generally tough, and some of the best O-Linemen in the country. Again I think this pick depends on what 2026 Packers O-Line looks like.

Pick 244: Austin Romaine LB Texas Tech: 6'2 240. Gets carried just the tiniest bit when making tackles. A little hesitant in pass rush. Run stuffer. Great pursuit. I see in this guy the good side of McDuffie without the being lost in coverage side of McDuffie.

1 trade was made offered by KC. They gave me picks 127 and 166 for pick 115. You guys know I love picking up picks.

You guys got a year to pick this apart, have at it

I don't want to look at any 2027 mock draft of the Packers unless it starts with pick 64 in the 2nd round.

NFL.Com projected 2027 comp picks.

That would make 12 total picks

2nd
3rd, 3rd comp
4th, 4th comp, 4th Gary Trade
5th, 5th comp
6th, 6th comp, 6th Wicks Trade
7th

They are saying the 2027 draft will have better talent than this year's... makes me think that is why there were very few 2027 picks included in Draft trades this year.

A lot of our bottom of the roster will be churned next spring. Could get an entirely new OL or Def backfield with a bench player before the end of the 4th round. I foresee quite a few cap casualties next off season.

ETA: If we bundled all these expected comp picks into one trade, how high on day 2 could we expect to go?

I looked up a chart (slow day at work) and it seems only into the middle of round 3, about where the playoff teams begin. Adding in our middle of the playoff teams own 3rd still is a 3rd round pick.
