We had couple of entertaining games this weekend. Our beLoved Packers came oh so close to extending their season. However, it was not to be. Then there was tonight's perennial Chiefs Bills playoff matchup, with the Chiefs (again) doing in the Bills. Joining the Chiefs will be the Ravens, 49ers and the Lions to play in the Championship games next weekend for a shot at a Super Bowl appearance. In our contest Albert Park maintained the lead. With a little to a lot of luck, anyone can still win our contest. Stay tuned!

The curse of "wide right" over the Bills, and my getting things backwards. I coulda had da bingo, but got da zippidy doo dah!
The Chiefs certainly seem to have the Bills number. They were victimized by their depleted defence last night. Too bad. As for Voyageur, 282 games so far with no score bingos, but picking almost two thirds of the winners. He has handily out picked everyone in the contest. Kind of a similarity to cursed successes of the Buffalo Bills. At least he's still having fun.

Missed to the right, just like Scott Norwood did in 1991, to cost the Bills the Super Bowl. Down by one point, 8 seconds left, a 47 yard kick went right. The curse is still there. They need to get this guy up there to remove the curse.

Remove the curse!

He's not God. Just a drunken Bills fan (and an animation). I'm not sure what to do about curses, although (I'm told) I can be a good curser.

Which fans felt worse after the weekend? Ours or theirs?

Good question. I'd think theirs. It's another year of frustration over one single play. It's happened to them so often that they must believe Poseidon is rising out of Lake Erie, and blowing the ball to the right, or making it so icy, the Bills players can't hold onto it, or even catch it.

As for the majority of us here in Packerville, we're pretty happy that we went as far as we did, and we can tell ourselves that with the youngest team in the league, and a good list of draft picks, the future looks pretty darned bright.

But, ask the Bills and Packers fans the same question and you get the same answer. Only, the way the answer is interpreted is different.

Question: "How's it going?"

Buills fan: "Can't kick." Total despair.

Packers fan: "Can't kick." No complaint. The future is bright.

A buddy of mine watched the Bills Chiefs game with his neighbor, and wife whom were originally from Buffalo. He said that he felt that he had to leave quickly after the game. It was if someone had just died.
The window of opportunity is just opening in Green Bay. Buffalo fans feel like their window is closing.

No doubt. Salaries eventually destroy the once powerful teams. Players demand more, and with cap restrictions, the time comes you can't pay them what they want.

A basic premise of the sports industry today, and always, was to extract as much money from the fans and TV networks as possible. As an insatiable demand was realized, then the prices rose exponentially, far surpassing any cost of living indices. The NFL is the league which has capitalized most on this model. There you go fans...

Definitely! Thursday Night Football? Monday playoff game? NFL Red Zone? And now they have both an NFL and Super Bowl slot machines in which you can play as any of the 32 teams.
