I’m pretty confident betting on 1 of Detroit or Minnesota falling substantially. Substantial meaning 3+ games off last years total. It wouldn’t shock me to see that pair slip 5-7 total combined games off their 2024 combined Win total. Will know pretty early in season but something like these betting odds

Detroit 12.5
GB 11.5
Vikings 10.5
Bears 9.0

The tougher NFC N Division schedule should humble us a little. Speaking of which? How the heck did GB get lined up with Philly in consecutive seasons??GB will have played the Eagles at minimum 3 and possibly 4 times across 2 seasons. Nobody else in our Division saw that.

In many other seasons I’d say GB is poised to hit 12-13 Wins. That’s a hard prediction in 2025 and possibly too optimistic looking across our opponent list. I’m putting us similar to last season, maybe a slight tick better 11+
Our division will probably be the toughest in the NFC this year. It's not difficult believing that three teams will be in the running for playoff spots going into the 17th game. One of the separating factors will be which of the 4 starting QBs goes down with a serious injury, and mark my word, one of them will.

I don't Detroit will surprise anyone this year, and I don't know just how effective McCarthy will be as a fresh new QB. His play is going to determine the direction of the Vikings even though their defense will keep them in games. In Chicago, all the upgrades could turn them into something special, or it could backfire and be wasted money spent. This one is even more difficult to project than the Vikings. As for the Packers, I'm not convinced they've really gained that much except maybe in the depth department. What they are relying on to be a better team than last year is another year of experience for younger players and that can either work for you or can see stagnation.

You're wins numbers could be pretty accurate. It all depends on the health of the QBs.

The area I see where the Packers have the most growth opportunity is on Offense. Like you said, much of a season is reliant on player health. That said theres absolutely no way to quantify that other than looking to depth. Imo These positions have better depth in 2025 over the 2024 season.
RB: add Marshawn Lloyd
OL: Add Belton and Jordan Morgan
TE: Add Luke Musgrave (only finished 6-7 games healthy).
WR: Matthew Golden, Savion Williams.

That’s pretty much better depth on every position group other than QB remains equal. I didn’t use Aaron Banks because for me he indirectly is Myers OL starter replacement. Not positionally but the flexibility his signing offers the team.

I only partially disagree and I do it respectfully because I sense you know what you’re talking about. I think this is a better O roster than 2024 if injury remains similar. This looks like a team that if Love plays 15+ games again could finish Top #4-6 scoring area. Those rankings aren’t perfect, because other teams rise and fall also. However I’d be shocked if Love plays 17 games and we don’t rise at least a little bit (1-2 spots)

I don't remember any of the game. All I remember is that Packer fans in school were upset. And since I didn't really follow football at the time, I saw an opening. See, these kids had been teasing me for several years about my stuttering. I became an instant Vikings fan that Monday in school. Bragging about how "my team" beat the mighty Packers. And oh yeah, the teasing about the stuttering backed off after that. Still haven't figured out if the decision was part of it. Sure seemed like it at the time. It gave us something to talk about, I guess. So, Packer fans are the reason I'm a Vikings fan. I never switched teams. It was tough growing up in Appleton as a Vikings fan. Most of my family are Packer fans. And one cousin, OMG, is a Dallas fan. I think he's brain-damaged. Must have had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck too long during birth.
It actually was a 3PM game. Kind of a national second half of a doubleheader on CBS. Ray Scott did the play by play. And considering that the Packers had beaten the Colts, Browns, Rams, and just shutout Gale Sayers and the Bears, the oddsmakers had this to be an easy win. But Lombardi could not quite get them fired up enough thst day. Ironically, the Packers became 5-2 and ran the table from there all the way to the SB.

I had a similar reaction against the kids in my school when I was growing up. Most of them were Bears and Cubs fans. I was already a Packers fan, and they weren't teasing me particularly much, but I've always had this urge to go against the grain. If everyone liked the Cubs, I gravitated towards the team that was beating them a lot at the time - the Pirates.

Ray Scott. I met him. It was at the Best Western that's still down the street from the stadium. We always had reservations there for several games for Saturday night. One night, when we went down to the pool, Ray was walking down the hallway towards me. I stopped and said, "I enjoy your broadcast work! You know your stuff!" He smiled and thanked me, and in Ray Scott fashion told me that his work was only good because of the work everyone around him was doing to get him ready for each broadcast.

That was it, but I met him.

What I liked about him and those announcers of the time is that they did not try to make more of the game than what it was. Today it seems they have to give us some philosophic discovery to create interest. I know Ray went on to do Minnesota Twins baseball and later Big Eight basketball. You can imagine the price of a reserved room at that Best Western the night before a season game goes for now. Now I stayed there one night but it was in May of an offseason. Price was very good.

Not to mention all the ridiculous stats they give out and the fact that they all seem to be worried about their jobs if they don't flap their mouths constantly. Sometimes it's a bit much for me.

Ray Scott all the way. I remember watching games when he was the only announcer and handled talking ad scripts as well. He did a great job and seemed to see so much of what you couldn't distinguish on TV with the single camera format. He was special.

That reminds me of my old username here. When I first signed up in 2017, I was "Starr To Dowler". But I lost my login credentials when I had a couple of years of serious health issues and wasn't online much, and had to create a new alias when I came back.

I remember that from Ray Scott. He had the perfect voice for announcing games and I was so thankful he was doing the Packer games. He was the one announcer who could carry a game alone back when there wasn't a second man in the booth. He must have had reams of notes sitting nearby because he never let dead air exist for a moment and when he brought something up it was really in tune with the situation and insightful.

He may have been a "homer" when it came to the Packers, but he carried a wealth of knowledge with him about other teams, players, and their offenses and defenses. He never let us down with a broadcast.
