Coming into the season, my memory tells me that these were the major concerns among Packers fans (in no particular order):

- Safety depth
- Starting cornerback / depth
- Inside linebacker
- Nose tackle
- Special teams

At this point in the season, we seem to have the following:

- Good depth at safety, especially once Burnett comes back
- Two great young cornerbacks from our first two draft picks plus a surprise in Gunter
- Despite losing Barrington our depth has been good with Palmer and Thomas
- Raji was playing great through injury and we got Guion back just in time
- Special teams haven't been special but save for two bad plays against St. Louis have been good enough

What wasn't anticipated to be problems were:

- WR depth
- Offensive line

It seems that as usual there was a lot of off-season hang wringing about things that quickly changed once the season got under way.

Also, don't forget that during the off season, we heard about how great the following teams would be, in no particular order:

1. Cowboys
2. Eagles
3. Dolphins
4. Seahawks

Today, their combined win-loss record is 7-12.

As the great Yogi Berra (and apparently many before him) said, "It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future."

The season is less than a third over. Let's see how we are in Jan. But there are no complaints to this point. Defense has been solid, much to my surprise. As long as Rogers is healthy we're an elite team in the league.
