Seriously folks Doubs has the speed to beat DBs as well as a better route tree than Watson presently to get open. He could by years end work towards being our #4 but has year to learn and build till Watkins and Cobb all see end of deals and make space.

I give this specific pick an A- excellent value

Love the pick. His speed and size are obviously major pros. Only negative is that his route running is a little a lazy at time and he can be inconsistent at catching the ball (though he is a hands catcher which is a positive). Great player to develop.

If you think Doubs routes are weak aspect, then you must HATE the Watson pick?

Nope. Watson is a project but his hands are more consistent (an important trait for receivers), he's taller and faster, and Watson has been deployed in more ways than Doubs AND the team can be sure that Wason darn sure understands at least the concept of run blocking. While Doubs has the physical traits, and the head start in being asked to run more routes, I understand why Watson why chosen ahead of Doubs. I hope Watson becomes Mike Evans and Doubs turns into Chris Godwin (didn't mean to pick two Bucs but here we are).

The oddest part of your question is where you got the implication that I didn't like the Doubs pick? Because I mentioned a negative quality about the player then I automatically hate any pick that shares that one negative quality? I'm a Gators fan for goodness sakes and I hate, let me repeat HATE, the Georgie Bulldogs but I like Eric Stokes and I hope this year's two first rounders turn into elite players as well.

I in no way said or would claim Doubs should have went before Watson. He however does have a bigger route tree presently than Watson.

Doubs was under the radar due to his injury, but he apparently did some work at a pro day that I didn't know about until today.

Ran in the 4.47 to 4.53 range with a 124" broad jump and 34" vertical. Bear in mind, that's coming off a knee injury.

Lots to like about him.

In a class of old prospects, he just turned 22.

He made an immediate impact as an 18 year old-- 43/562/2.

Averaged 106 yards per game over his last two seasons (20 starts).

Has great punt return production throughout his career. 37 career returns for 463 yards (12.5 YPR).

Watson has a much higher ceiling but this guy has potential. Good wide receiver picks by the Packers. I have to say the NFL network coverage of the draft is poor. Is that Greenie? How does that guy have a job? He's horrible.

Doubs, pronounced ‘Dubs’, was one of the fastest WR’s at the Senior Bowl getting a little over 21 mph. Those trackers tell you more than a 40 will. It would explain why he gets open deep so much despite timing only slightly above average in the 40.

I really like Doubs. My brother in law said he has some Davante to his game (Tae coming out of college), and I don’t think he’s wrong.

Watched a video from pre draft on the top 3 groups of WR. There were essentially 5-6 in each 3 tiers. Let’s Call them College (although that’s my spin)1st Team, 2nd-Team, 3rd-Team

Romeo Doubs was a 3rd team National WR. He moves so effortlessly that while he doesn’t look that fast (no noticeable gear switching thrusters) it’s a fluid and deceptive long speed. He often had to slow down to come back to an under thrown pass and still beat the deepest defender. Top 100 overall grade from many accounts. Easily top 11-20 Wideout in a deep talented class.

Looking back I have us getting the #4 and #13 WR.

Romeo Doubs= A grade pick

I’m pumped!!! He honestly has higher floor than Watson IMO
From the limited highlight reels, it looks like Doubs tracks the ball well. That's an important trait in the pros. Both WR picks will need some work, but then so do most rookies. Overall I like the picks, all of them. Even tough he had 4 picks in the first 2 rounds, he got burned by the early run on WRs. He stayed patient and didn't overreach.

Did the Vikings get the better of the second round trade? Yeah, by a little bit. But considering the weak bargaining position GB was in, it's amazing they got even that done. Good work.

ST just got a whole lot better! Just finished up watching some tape on this kid and man is he exciting to watch. Immediate upgrade to the return game, which I think opens the offense to allow Amari Rodgers to shine, at least in Doubs rookie year. I do not think Rodgers is a return specialist, but will take a second year leap as a gadget/slot WR.

I looked at the tape of Watson and Doubs and Doubs is the more versatile player. One scout noted, and I agree, that his hips are pretty tight so he's gonna have to fix that by training in route running, and with a personal trainer to do more stretching (or better yet, he could do yoga with Rodgers and get some bonding in to boot. Personally I think stretching is the hardest part of physical training. Ot the most boring)

Anyway, great value pick in R4. We'll see more of Watson this year, but I won't be surprised if Doubs makes an early jump and starts getting more snaps.

He certainly looks like a great returner. It seemed like Rodgers was just never comfortable doing returns last year. So yeah, put Rodgers in the slot or dial up some gadget plays for him. And maybe there are other ways he can contribute on STs.

Yeah you're responses are reasonable. It's important, especially for draftees, to note where they must improve. For Watson, his college drop rate was over 12%. That's gotta be fixed, quickly, and should be with Rodgers throwing him the ball. Doubs has really tight hips and so it's harder for him to break left or right out of a route. That's a conditioning issue that will be helped with coaching and physical therapists and a lot of boring stretching.

But overall? These are great picks. There's just not that much separating the first 10 WRs selected. Some early picks will struggle, some later picks will excel. It's exciting really because the Packers have excellent coaching.
