Dom Capers after 5 years of priority (at the expense of the offense) has gotten the Defense to a level to be a top 10 defense. Unfortunately, the offense didn’t help the defense get the stat’s they needed. The Defense Line is about tying up the blockers, so the linebackers can do their job. It is about holding the line, or penetrating the line, and Raji, Pennel, Daniels, Guion all did that. Yes, there were up and downs, but big picture they performed outstanding. Dom and staff did a great job shuffling the players, and keeping the bodies fresh. Daniels was the must have sign, and that is out of the way. Everyone else is would be nice on getting signed.

Letroy Guion – I know the off-field issues are of concern, but I know GB has him on a tight leash (and he knows it). He will never be the 2010 guy because age, so you have to treat him as 1 or 2 down player, which everyone wants SB45 Raji, but it will never happen. Unless he’s willing to sign for much less to stay at GB, he goes elsewhere.

James Jones – I know we like him, and lot of great memories. If we sign him, it is because TT decided to do the Donald Driver thing, and park him on the sidelines as a last year to be his farewell tour. If injuries plague the team, he’ll play ore. He’d be a minimum veteran signing. There is too much new blood, and TT will draft another 4th or 5th round WR. I wouldn’t’ be surprise for a trade off-season (which is a rarity).

Kuhn – Too good on special teams, and until RIP “gets” it, he’ll be blocking for A-Rod, and finding value to contribute to the team another year. I don’t have to tell you the chant, you all know it!

Neal/Perry– Both Neal and Perry showed up (and Peppers). This gets back to the value. With Dom doing the Dom shuffle on the 3-4 players, Neal and Perry will be a “would be nice” to sign as long as the value is good. Note, this crap about Perry going 4-3 is done for! He is not 4-3 caliber unless he’s in a rotation (1 or 2 down player, but not 3). Injury prone, and other factors would prohibit him from falling too far from the tree. I expect TT to get a deal for both of them and reasonable value. They’ll probably sit on the market for a while, but it won’t be long before they’re signed (meaning, they may test the waters), but they’ll be signed shortly after, if not before.

Quarless – GONE! Off-field issue will have him missing a game (unless something happens), and TE will be hot item in the next draft. I wouldn’t be surprised if 2-3 TE’s are not acquired in the draft (1st or 2nd, and late in the rounds).

Richardson – I really liked his play, but he’ll be medically retired from NFL (and smart to do so). Two strikes with similar injury…I’d count my blessings and take it while you can still walk off the field.

Stark – I can’t say enough about his play. I know he drops one or two a year, but he saved Lacy’s bacon, and this team never would have made it to the playoffs this year without his play. I know he’s a simple man and would love to stay in GB, but I don’t know what his agent is telling him. He really can get a good deal elsewhere, but I hope TT finds a way to keep him. Lacy is a 50:50 for next year, and the next guy drafted could be a bust. TT/MM needs an good insurance policy with Lacy pulling a Richardson (you know what I mean)!

Tolzien – He did his job, but Hundley is ready to go! I’ll make my BOLD prediction with Tolzien, he’ll be with Denver next year, possibly even fighting for #1 QB (if and only if Osweiler struggles). MM’s approach is to move the 2nd year up, and draft 5-6th round QB, and start the process all over, again.

I hope you enjoyed my 1st post!

o-7!!!
