I'd be ok with either Mixon or Jones as a one-year plug at RB. They are both good enough (when healthy) to tyake meaningful snaps and ease the load on Jacobs.
That would give us the opportunity to pass final judgment on Lloyd. If Lloyd turns out to be another No Go then we know what direction to go in 2027.

True. I think we kinda know what we have in Aaron Jones and he’s a fantastic influence.
We’re not getting AJ though I just learned he just revised his contract to stay in MN :(

The Vikes only had Madison left on the roster. They need someone. They have to clear like 45 mill in cap space. Our division will be a battle. Maybe we give Mixon a shot if he can pass a physical.

Good point. One way or another, a decision on Lloyd has to be made this year. Something doesn't seem right - two years on, basically, IR after being drafted in round 2 (I think).

I'm not a conspiracy guy, but Lloyd's situation seems very odd.

Thanks for the update OS. The queens are in cap hell and so have to make do with what they've got, not counting the draft.

Do you know what they're going to pay him? I think he was on a $7 mil/AAV deal since going to MN.

I believe they will pay Aaron Jones $5M.

Thanks gopkrs. That's a pretty good payday for Jones Jr. He still looks as fast and elusive as ever. But he'll always be an injury risk. IMO, not worth it at $5 mil.

In FA, Gluten has been acquiring older players to plug holes, rather than sign expensive guys on their first NFL contract after their rookie deal.

That's a good strategy, now that I think about it. Some of it was due to necessity. Gluten swung and missed on Hobbs, who was paid $17.2 mil for 5 starts and other, non-starter snaps. It was still right to cut him, but financially it was a very bad acquisition.

The other and more important matter - the team already has a lot of talent. The CB group is arguably the weakest group on the team, but depth has been added in FA (Juste) and Gluten will certainly take a CB in the draft, somewhere.

Aside from filling holes in the offseason, a lot of the Packers' success in 2026/2027 rides on an early, healthy return from Kraft and Parsons. Kraft will be back first, probably late Sept, early Oct and Parsons will be about a month behind him. Not ideal, but they have enough talent to win games until these guys return.

If he manages to play a lot; he could be worth it. Gonna be interesting to watch Wilson.

Yep, if Jones Jr stays healthy, $5 mil would be a bargain.

Wilson has a great opportunity with the hags. Walker the III is gone and the other RB is coming off an ACL tear, I think. Clearly Seattle dominates due to its defense, and so they don't have to swing for the fences at any one position on offense (and they have their QB). They'll still take a RB in the draft, but Wilson has a legit chance to start next season, and set himself up for a bigger payday.

Good for him. I like the guy and he played well here as RB2.
