Not to feed the troll's claim about "input," but I'm not sure how much I'd blame McCarthy for this. I'm not saying he has no blame, but he seems to get beat up a bit undeservedly sometimes. I would say where I've had my question marks about him is whether or not the players have tuned him out or if he's still getting the best out of them. So far, I'd say they're as much in his corner as they've ever been under him, and I think he can still get em up for the big ones ... Apart from maybe the game in ATL. I also feel certain trolls inaccurately label him as conservative. Stubborn? Yeah, maybe he is a little but I know what conservative and aggressive are unlike a lot of people. Only time I ever had a beef with him not being aggressive enough was not going for 2 in Arizona. I just feel, if the argument can be made that Rodgers is being forced to play with crap surrounding him, Mike McCarthy is also being forced to try and make chicken **** into chicken salad. Now ... Is MM fully responsible for the roster being that? Well, I disagree with our troll friend on him having no say ... who has what leverage on it or picking out the players I don't know. But Thompson does run the front office and scouting, so ... I'd be inclined to put the lion's share of the blame on him. Now ... Is McCarthy the sole authority on Capers staying? There again I'm not going to speculate on what I don't know. If he is, then perhaps he does deserve heavier criticism for not being willing to drop him and get a younger better guy for the job. If it's Ted Thompson or somebody else up there, then I'd say it's they who need to come under heavy fire.
