Gb will stay #1 unless they lose. I think lions at 3 is much to high. I agree better than the bears but I can think of at least 6 teams that are better than them right now. (Pack Pats Ravens Eagles Saints Texans maybe Falcons) But hey thats not saying they are bad, to go from 20's-30's for the last few years to being in the top 10 is very impressive and they will have more than a few chances throughout the year to cement themselves into a top 10 type team with wins over more quality franchises.

I think it's just a matter of the Super bowl champs will be #1 until they lose. If Jay Cutler and Tom Brady both throw for 400 yards this week, the Packers will fall from #1 in a lot of power rankings.

They have won their last 6 reg season games, including against the SB champion packers. Stafford is looking like a #1 pick. The D is insane, and they will compete for the NFC North. The Lions have a stigma against them for everything that has happened in the past, but if you block all that out you have one of the most talented teams in the NFC.

Can we agree these are subjective ratings? I read them too so it's not like I'm a party pooper. I guess I like to see the media objectivity versus real world performance.
I think it's more of an MTV feel good rating, not based on performance.

Media objectivity? You have got to be kidding me. The one thing the media is not, is objective. Otherwise they would not still be talking about the NFC East as a powerhouse division or the Cowboys going to the Super Bowl. BTW, one of them ranked the Pats above the Packers.

Yes, I guess I should have encapsulated the "objectivity" I meant to say the media bias. You've made my post clear so thanks.

Just wanted to share this.

I don't know if it means anything but I'd like to think it does after reading all the complaints after the Panthers win.
These rankings mean nothing.....which are one mans(analyst)"opinion". For those of you that live on the rankings and what the knuckleheads on TV say, really need to wake up. Only two weeks of football have been played and you really think this article means a damn thing?

USA today is meant for a elementary school reading level, I think 4th grade, so when I read their paper on the occasion I think would I really trust a little kid handling grown up issues.

I have news for you. All papers are written at about the same level. Most are right about the 7th grade level. As are marketing letters and most junk mail you get. Anything higher than that level and people will stop reading after about 2 paragraphs.

What do they mean by
Just think, if the Pack and Pats meet on Super Sunday, it will be a Super Bowl XXXI rematch, only one of the most boring big games ever.
Do they mean boring as if the Pack would get killed or that both QB's would just complete every pass?

LMAO reading those power rankings always makes me laugh, cause ESPN or any media will put the Jets really high, no matter how many times Sanchessy turns the ball over, and you know how bad the Patriots defense is, they still get ranked pretty high.

Unless the Packer win in spite of another 400+ yards given up.

But seriously, you expect CUTLER to get 400+? Hard to do when your face keeps getting planted in the dirt every time the other team blitzes.
