NFL brings Green Bay Packers to iTunes, VUDU

Last year’s road to the Super Bowl, spotlighted in "Green Bay Packers: Road to Super Bowl XLV (4 Disc Set)," is coming to online retail outlets like iTunes and VUDU.

All of this is thanks to a new deal that NFL Films has cut with Vivendi Entertainment (VE) to distribute home entertainment programming in the U.S. and Canada.

This is the first time that the company has granted both digital and physical (DVD/Blu-ray) rights for its home-entertainment business. "The NFL brand stands for innovative, high-quality entertainment production," said Yolanda Macias, executive vice president of acquisitions and business development at VE. "And through our extensive distribution network, we are able to offer compelling programming choices to NFL fans - everywhere and however they want to enjoy the content."

In addition to finding NFL Films DVD titles at retail outlets across the country, consumers can buy digital titles online at iTunes, Best Buy CinemaNow and VUDU.

After the Packers offering, Vivendi will also release seven to 10 new DVD releases each year, as well as the existing NFL Films DVD catalogue, including past Super Bowls profiles, team histories, and the Emmy-winning “America's Game: The Super Bowl Champions and Complete Game Sets,” which show historically beloved games in their entirety.
