While Green Bay Packers fans continue to debate whether Brett Favre will ever come back to play, the iconic quarterback has just finished filming two new commercials that will debut nationally in a few months
Favre filmed ads for Wrangler 5-Star premium jeans, and for Remington, the hunting and shooting sports company.
Craig Errington, director of marketing and communications for Wrangler, said the Wrangler ad was filmed on Favre's property in Hattiesburg, Miss. The ad is reminiscent of his earlier Wrangler ad, in which Favre is shown throwing around a football to friends.
"We filmed a lot of action shots, all of which will be familiar to those who have followed Favre in his career," Errington said. "We're very happy with him."
The ad will debut in July and will be shown on football telecasts around the country, Errington said.
The Remington ad is more of a branding ad, according to Al Russo, director of marketing for Remington. In that ad, which will be shown on outdoors channels beginning in June, Favre talks about the firearms and ammunition company without mentioning any specific products.
Russo said Favre signed with Remington in January, and will be featured in the TV ad as well as on the company Web site.
Russo said Favre was a natural for Remington, given Favre's interest in the outdoors and hunting.
"He has an affinity for our sport," Russo said.
