Hey guys, I'm making my first trip ever to Green Bay this upcoming season and I'm so excited! I'm going week 2 against the Redskins with my friend who is a big Skins fan. Is there any advice you guys could give us about the best restaurants, bars, etc. to visit in the area? Thanks!

I can't speak to the dining and night life since it was not of particular interest to us during our visits, but you should carve out a couple of hours for the Packer Hall of Fame.

If possible, do the stadium tour...well worth the price of admission.

I have not seen the Walk of Legends, but it looks like it would be worth a few minutes of your time...I believe it's about a mile from the stadium.

And of course there's the newest "attraction"...the Donald Driver statue, which is a little weird since it used to be a kinda unofficial Don Hutson statue outside the old Hall of Fame, now repainted.

"The statue was originally a generic "receiver" statue that was dedicated at the Packers Hall of Fame across from Lambeau Field in 1985."

Source; The above website.

The statue had Green /Gold Packer uniform with two zeros on the back of the jersey.

Don Hutson wore the old Packer unifom colors which were Blue/Gold and Don's Jersey number was 14. The number 14 is retired

It also has a face mask which is a giveaway it is not explicitly Don Hutson. That would be the reason I said "kinda". However it looked like Hutson, and the generic nature would be consistent with some of the weird aesthetic going on in the '70's - '80's.

It is hard to believe the sculptor (or is "fabricator" a better word?) was thinking of anybody other than Hutson as the model.

Honestly, my family and I have been to GB a few times, and I've always enjoyed the "touristy" spots the most, by far. HOF, stadium tour, Curly's, the corporate tailgates. I've worked hard at finding hidden gems, but haven't found one yet that measures up to the Lambeau experience. Don't be too cool for school.; You can't go wrong sticking to the attractions at and surrounding the stadium.
