I fully understand your point, and you don't have to go long to find posts I made complaining about TT's moves. Thing is, it's not just that we've won the SB, with TT making right moves. It's that the VAST MAJORITY of his moves, even some realy perplexing ones, end up being the right ones. Because it's all about the system. I understand people questioning some moves, as I have. But to question the system of building from within, through the draft, at this point is not very smart. It's a proven system, that is clear by now. So, some moves, say letting Jenkins go and letting Neal play, may not pan out this year. But close to 80% of what TT does this offseason will pan out, and the somatory of the good will far outweight any bad move. And even some supposed bad move has a clear motive, specially regarding not keeping expensive FAs. There are alot of young players in this roster that are set to be FAs and aren't being paid, who will have to be dealt with in the future. And this is where TT is ahead of 99% of the fans. He doesn't think solely of this season. He's already projecting 1, 2 seasons from now. And he has backup plans for everything he does. Giacomini and Barbre were big mistakes, but TT knew in 09 what was Tauscher's projected recovery period. He did gamble with letting him be a FA, but he knew that, if by (correct me if I'm wrong) October Barbre hadn't gotten the job done, Tauscher would be recovered and ready to take his place.
