Yikes!

I remember talk of him having a drinking problem, but a BAC of .325?

A BAC of .30%–.40% is considered to be in the range of surgical anesthesia.

MM said that one of his problems was going back home to his mother's cooking. He would return trying to play catch up and lose the pounds. Just sad because he could have finished with a decent career. Reminds a little of Johnny Jolley who could have had better results.

"I had a single shot of tequila on the plane"

I think he meant to say, "I had a single bottle of tequila on the plane"

The fact that he can function "ok", with a BAC of .325 tells you that the guy is a heavy drinker and I am guessing, driving under the influence is a routine thing for him. I am just glad that he hasn't seriously hurt or killed anybody...yet.

His sentence of 180 days of confinement, a screening at the Youth and Family Services Behavioral Health and 30 hours of community restitution is light IMO. I hope he also lost his drivers license for a minimum of 10 years.

That kind of BAC is starting to push alcohol poisoning levels that killed the likes of rock stars such as Keith Moon and John Bonham. He's lucky he was caught before he killed someone. Hopefully he can find the resolve to get clean and stay that way.

I don't wish any ill will on Eddie and hope that he does get sober and turn his life around. However, I don't view this much different than someone that is arrested drunk and firing a gun in public. At some point, he is going to hurt or kill someone with that 4,000 lb weapon and telling the victim(s) and their loved ones "Well, we tried to stop him", I guess what we did, just wasn't enough.

Drunk driving penalties aren't harsh enough. I can't imagine having your life impacted by a massively selfish act that is easy to avoid (especially in this day and age with things like Uber)

1 million percent agree.

I can't tell you how many articles/videos I have read over the years about people being charged with their ...more than 4 DUI's.

Here is the scary thing I just read today about the subject:

"Studies estimate that, on average, a person drives drunk approximately 80 times before their first arrest for driving under the influence (DUI)"

That number is astounding. That line between life and death is not much. Incredible how one could escape fate 80 times before even being caught.
