Just heard it on the news

    From rotoworld.com

Dolphins signed former Packers TE David Martin.

This, couple with the news that Randy McMichael is on the trading block, could make Martin someone to watch in training camp. He's never been able to stay healthy as a pro, but Martin has great pass-catching skills and Cam Cameron will know how to use him. Mar. 4 - 10:24 pm et

The Packers always liked Martin's potential, but as someone said he was always injured too. He also had way too many drops. He would show signs of what he could do, he just didn't do it. I don't think this is a big loss for Green Bay.

David Martin and Donald Lee have shown glimmers of hope and shades of brilliance but cannot be counted on in any major role, i'll chalk this one up under whatever

Martin was a good player. His only big problem was the injuries, although he did have too many drops this past season.

Thanks to PackerLegend for putting this into perspective with that list of free agents who are still out there. There were no biggies at our positions of need this year, so I wasn't expecting any early signings by Thompson. Once the initial spending spree is over, there are usually some better deals to be had for good players.

David Martin's contract with Miami is for three years and $3.6 million.

Martin got about $1 million to sign a very fair deal. This is a small gamble to take on a player who could probably more than replace the drop-prone Randy McMichael if he stays healthy for 16 games.
