I think it's having a QB who can accurately throw the ball - Stafford made Cooper Cupp an All-Pro too. Adams can get open and catch the ball as well so that helps. Let's not forget the Rams having an Offensive line that allows Stafford to essentially pitch a tent back there while he and Adams play pitch and catch. They're both proven guys and they play well together.
Adams did what many players do, he went to a bad team because they offered him the most money. Now he's on a good team, with a top coach, and a top quarterback. He's also got another WR in Puka Nacua to draw defensive attention.
Interesting trivia:
Matthew Stafford has only been to two Pro Bowls and has never been named All-Pro.
That's pretty puzzling considering how good & productive he has been for so long, all the way back to the Detroit days with Megatron and others.
