It doesn't mean Favre is coming back.

It does mean Cook has bills to pay and has lost his #1 revenue stream.

Can't he get in trouble?

Will it be the first time someone did something unethical and/or illegal to pay the bills?

Brett is probably making more money retired then playing..
His football salary was 11 mil or so...

Endorsements? Nice junk probably in the 3 or 4 mil range..

You think he is making less retired? I bet he is making more

Re: READ NOW

I love that....."A league source"........they never name names in this garbage. So if it's true, why don't they say WHO said it?
It's easy to say stuff, if no one is held accountable.

Because people don't want to lose their jobs for talking with the media.

I understand that.........maybe these "sources" should keep their big mouths shut.
I'm sick and tired of the whole thing really. I mean, Favre's not playing here anymore, and i don't care what rumor comes from what "source".
What does it really matter? If Cook did something wrong, he will pay for it in the end. If he didn't, then all this garbage will go away, and the sharks will go onto their next victim.
I've come to grips with the fact that Rodgers is our QB now, and whatever happens outside of that, who cares?
But it's the off season, and they have to write SOMETHING to get their paychecks.
Theres so much rule breaking in the NFL nowadays, it's rediculous. Bellichick gets a slap on the wrist for cheating. What will they do to Cook if he DID "tamper?" Shake their fist at him and say "Naughty Bus! Go stand in the corner! It's a time out for you!"???

does a retired player typically retain his agent?

this is getting stupid.

the further this goes the worse its gonna make Favre look.

If Bus Cook was a good agent he would shut the hell up, let Brett get away from football for awhile and then line up some endorsements if he wants some damn money.

the world already thinks of him as a retirement waffler and this is just making it worse.

what could he possibly gain by coming back? what team that is close to a championship needs A. a quarterback B. has the money to pay for him or C. wants to put up with 1-possibly 2 more years before they say good bye to him for good.

there are just no feasible situations where this works out for Favre or an NFL football team. Bus Cook needs to cool it. lay low.

Packnic.. completely agree.. a post from one of the bazillion threads about this..

If I was Favre I think I would fire off a warning to all journalists across this fine country... write this bogus crap anymore and I will take any legal action I can against your paper, magazine or what not.

All this crap in my opinion is tarnishing his reputation in the minds of those that are absorbing this crap as a possible truth. Brett says he is done.. case closed and let the man live his life in flippin peace for heaven's sake.

If I walked a day in his shoes, I would be pissed that this keeps going an going.. he shed his tears.. move on.
