I mean, come on.....y'all are a little nervous.
You can tell your old buddy Caleb's revenge.
It's OK. Nobody else has to know......
Hahahahahahhahahhahahaha
If you guys need a RB I’d trade you Emmanuel Wilson for a 2026 4th Rounder. I’d say 3rd but based on what I’m seeing your 4th will be about as close as it gets to a 3rd Comp

We're good.
I know everyone thinks that Swift had a bad year because the team did poorly, but if you look at the numbers, he didn't rush for 1000 yards, but he had more total yards than he had in his best year in Philly......and the same amount of TD's!!
R. Johnson is a versatile 2cnd option and the young guy outta Rutgers(iirc) will get ST and mop up if not more if he shines!!!

Pachinko ran hard for KC as a 7th rndr.

I think his legacy is extremely important to Rodgers, and I think he knows there's a good chance that he only has one more season to win that second ring. If he's truly waiting for some contender to lose their starting QB to injury, he's taking a huge chance.

There are only a handful of teams that are serious Super Bowl contenders, and sitting on his *** hoping one of them will break their quarterback is an enormous and frankly foolish gamble. He's no longer a guy who can carry a mediocre franchise on his back, but with the right team, I think he can still be a Top 10 QB - it's not a stretch to say that he could be the missing piece that Pittsburgh needs to become legitimate contenders. I think his chances with the Steelers are much better than the chance that one of 6 or 8 other contending teams will lose their quarterback after the season starts.
Is Pittsburgh a legitimate contender missing only a QB? Is there another team needing only a decent signal caller out there right now? If not this could be a reason why AR is unemployed (besides his salary demands and other baggage).

I would say that the Vikings are an even stronger contender, without a proven QB. If I was a Viking fan, not sure I would want to hang my hopes on JJ McCarthy guiding the Vikings to a SB. He's never taken a regular season snap in the NFL and is coming off of a torn meniscus, which required a 2nd surgery in Nov.

I've said it before, I think if Rodgers had his choice between playing for the Vikings or Steelers, he would sign with the Vikings.

Most of the world knows Rodgers is no longer a top-3 QB (or even top-12) ... except AR. The salary, personality, & lofty team-mate expectations make him a pariah (IMHO) & not a team leader bringing the team together.

While I agree with you, I think if you look at what both Cousins and Darnold were able to do with the Vikings, IMO Rodgers could do just as much, if not more than either of them. I also think that even with the negatives that Rodgers would possibly bring to Minnyshitty, he currently would be a better QB option than McCarthy, to lead the Vikings in 2025.

No idea how Minny could possibly afford AR. They have $16mil cap available for '25 but haven't signed their draft class. yet (unless I missed it). 2026 they're currently at -$30mil, so doubt they could/would even do a non-1 year deal? The Vikes will live or die with JJ in '25 unless Howell really steps up.

Sounds good to me. I do find it strange that the steelers traded Pickens though. I mean, do they have two decent receivers?

If there is one thing that I have learned from the NFL, it is this. No matter what the cap numbers are showing right now, a team can always creatively massage the numbers and rework some contracts, to free up more cap space if needed. I think Rodgers said that he would play for $10M/year.

I will say this about Minnesota. Yes, Justin Jefferson is a darn good WR, but giving him $35M/year, is going to put that teams nose against the cap for years to come.

35 mill for a WR is crazy af.
I know if you have a good one they can change a game, but you gotta have the line line and the quarterback to get them the ball.
I do agree with some of the posters, though I think Minnesota would be better off starting Aaron Rodgers this year than JJ. There's not a doubt in my mind that Rodgers could take them farther if you could stay healthy.

I don't know much about Pickens or the Steelers roster but here is my educated guess. This is final year of Pickens rookie contract. The Steelers probably felt that they wouldn't resign him for various reasons, unknown to me. Better to get a 2026 3rd and a 2027th 5th in trade for Pickens and a 2027 6th, than nothing but maybe a comp pick in 2027.

I also remember reading that Pickens took some stupid personal foul penalties and Tomlin wasn't happy about that, as well as him having hammy issues.

I guess I would ask you this, if someone offered the Packers the same deal for Christian Watson, would you take it?

Today I would. But I'm really hoping he can come back and play for us for a long time. So I would not be actively pursuing a trade. Maybe he can totally come back from surgery. You have to depend on the doctors.

Yep. I’d rather play McCarthy than Rodgers. I’m glad he didn’t go there outside chance they repeat similar to last year with Rodgers. He might not be Top 3 but he could absolutely be a top 10 QB in efficiency in 2025.

I’m surprised they’d bet the farm on JJ when they came off such a good season. It’s not easy for a QB to perform at 2024 MN QB level, much less a 1st Start situation.
4312 Passing
35 TD 12 INT
102.5% Passer

I think most teams would sign up for that program

Jaire is similar. But he was willing and wanting to play in the playoffs. He could not and so had surgery. Makes me think he can play this year. You have to listen to the docs. But so does any trading partner.

There’s a realistic chance that J’aire plays 14+ games this season and in that Top 10 rated CB’s area. To me there’s no options available that would match that. Plus he seems to be taking it in stride and staying under radar which is smart. So we need to look at the production side a little harder in a Win Now mode imo.

I’m still a fan he’s not gone yet. Hopefully we can keep him and keep his full Cap hit closer to $20-$22mil next year. That would be an area I’d be comfortable. $27.5M is too steep and that’s part of the issue we’re having.

I have no clue as to his contract situation. I can't really see why he would be willing to give up money unless they made a longer contract or there would be insentives to make even more. Why would he give up money he already has? Unless, like I said. But I'm hoping he's healthy and plays for The Pack.

He hasn’t recouped the entire contract though unless he stays through 2026. The 2025 season in his 3rd season of a 4 year $88mil contract. So he’d be giving up $$ to not wear a Packer Jersey. He’s run through most if not all of that $30mil guar. He’ll run out of $ before we do.

We’re just in this situation because our cap rolls until it tolls. I might coin that!

I don't know what it comes to each year of the final 2 years. I hope he is healed and can show it. But you are right. They must be talking about his salary. We wouldn't want to pay his salary the last year if he gets hurt again. So I guess only the signing bonus was guaranteed. We'll have to hear what the drs say.

Per PFT Week 16 Saturday double-header will be:
Eagles/Commanders
and
Packers/Bears.

Assuming there will be games on Christmas Day (Thursday) one or more of those 4 will be playing on Christmas.

GB will play at home against Philly in '25. The Bears play Philly and Commanders on the road.

Have to imagine Packers-Eagles would be a more tantalizing game for tv, but I've been wrong before (2022, I think ;) ).

Most definitely will be those 4 on Christmas. I think it was leaked that Chi-Eagles played earlier so would be GB v Phi on Christmas

Thanks Fire, Bears-Eagles, it has been leaked earlier today, will be on Black Friday. Eagles @ GB on Christmas Day it is. Will Bears @ Commanders be the other? That's a lot of Bears in Primetime, if true. The NFL expecting a Chicago resurgence?
