Hi all,
Thought i'd swing by again seeing as it's Packers v Patriots (if only a preseason).
Lots of interesting stuff to watch for from a Patriots point of view:
1. Garopollo at QB comes with a reasonable level of positive hype - it will be interesting to see how he fares - he will also be...
Good game today - Rodgers played a stormer and the Packers D did just enough to make some plays in the 4th quarter.
Its quite a conundrum how to handle a QB like Rodgers - although letting him have 10-12 seconds to throw the ball seems like a questionable decision - he also burned us with...
In case you needed reminding - trying to make yourself feel like a big man by pounding your chest about a game you play no part in makes you look foolish.
You should take that someplace else.
I think this is actually a very valid and interesting subject.
I think the 'if you aren't a HC then you can't critique' comment is utterly asinine. How many of us are Profootballers on here? Not many, I bet. Does that mean we are excluded from critiquing the play of Profootballers?
This is...
I feel that the Patriots will approach this one in a similar way to the Colts game - there are some similarities in the opponent.
1. Tough away venue - noisy crowd
2. Very good QB (in Rodgers case we'll move this up to elite)
3. Not particularly physical on defence
4. Strong skills position...
I was comparing Patriots players that I would trade for their direct replacement on the Packers. ie which players I think are superior who are in a Packers uniform.
I'm also a Patriots fan.
I'm also reasonably confident in a win this Sunday.
You should think more about how your post will be received when posting on the fan forum of our next opponents - it comes across as cocky and arrogant.
FWIW, Rodgers is certainly in a league above Manning and Luck -...
A word to my Patriots brethren - lets back off on the bold proclamations shall we?
It seems one Packers fan has derailed what was a fine thread and now the tone has changed somewhat.
In the spirit of the previous couple of days i'll propose 2 Packers players i'd trade for their positional...
I'm guessing you get a quite a few 'optimistic' rainbow awards on your posts!
People make the mistake of looking for gaudy stats when rating a defense or front 7 - this is the most solid i've seen this Patriots defense look in years - the back 4 and the front 7 work in concert - coverage helps...
The 'fans' that are so sure we are going to 'roll over the Packers' are the ones with stupidly high expectations - the same ones that call for Brady's head after a slow start to the season and the same ones that always deride the work of 'Belichick the GM'.
In other words; they are individuals...
Thanks for the kind welcome.
I don't think there is a single player in the NFL that can cover Gronk 1 on 1 - if you go light with a DB they'll kill you with his blocking, if you go LBer they'll run him down the seam and kill you that way.
The only thing to do is bracket him as much as possible...
I'll jump in on this one too, Lakedog!
The thing that is driving me nuts this year is penalties!
Uncharacteristically the Patriots are ranked 2nd worst in that category this year - and its not just 'physical defense' type stuff - it has been false starts, offsides on kickoffs that type of...
I would say that our WR's are a little better than 'average at best' - they surely aren't the most physically outstanding group to ever take a football field are they have formed a pretty strong bond with Brady.
LaFell has come on a long way since the start of the season - he is the bigger...
