People are a little quick to hop off the bandwagon. While I'm not totally blinded by my green-and-gold glasses, I also think we caught the G-Men at the worst time: coming off a bye, after an abysmal stretch of games (including Eli not throwing a TD in three straight games), with a point to prove to all the critics and haters. People were questioning whether they'd even win the division with Washington's resurgence. Basically, it was just like our Houston game for them. With that being said, they did expose our biggest weakness - our O-line. Bulaga's injury crippled the line. Lang was developing into our best guard (according to McGinn's article yesterday) and Bulaga was probably our best linemen. But, I still think this team is a championship-caliber team. The Super Bowl team won it b/c Rodgers got ridiculously hot and the defense was very good. Both can happen this season. Our defense, especially in the secondary, had really been coming together well - until last night. The combo of Williams, House, and Hayward have proven to be very solid and capable starters. The safeties had shored up their play. And once Shields and Woodson come back, it should only get better. As far as the rest of the defense, once Clay gets back, it changes things dramatically. Walden and Moses can apply pressure opposite Clay. IMO, once we get healthy on the defensive side, it has the capability of really becoming a good defense.
