Hello Cheeseheads --- Wanted to stop in, now that someone yanked my chain and woke me up ....

Over on my IPB site - heard tell of Chunky Soup and how the STEELERS were kickin our backsides --- as of THIS POSTING, we now have SEVEN DAYS, and suddenly the Indy Colts are in 2nd place - due to a local Commercial due-dab on the morning news reports and their local Sports Talk Show.

BUT - Over on our web site, we allowed the Steelers fans to teach us how to click back-n-forth, so we could keep voting "over & over" for hours and hours, on end. But, hey, that's just me......

We have ONE WEEK left, and I'd hate to have to watch the future LA Ponies beat out the DIEHARD Cheeseheads, because no one here really gives a damn

Colts are 636,784
Packers are 868,518

So the Steelers have dropped to 3rd place and that means the Bengals are below that.

I had posted on IPB about how the Packers could make ONE MILLION.
With the lack of frequency on posting here... it probably won't happen....

But - here's the deal -- the Colts "can" and might possibly win if the Cheeseheads don't watch their proverbial backsides... If you've been watching, the Colts were "way down" on the totem pole until their local media decided to ride them about their lack of fandom. Now look.....

It could happen - the Packers finally losing even this....

Chunky Soup Voting Tips, by IPBprez

Help me out here folks -- I've been regularly touching base with ALL of the other Packer Clubs and alerting them about our standings and to KEEP VOTING. I'M ABOUT TO DO IT ONCE AGAIN, even over the phone, starting with Tulsa-Tim....

Let's do this... and get it right in the process!

Green Bay Packers fans - for the fifth consecutive year - have won Campbell Soup Co.'s annual "Click for Cans" contest, in which online voters back their favorite National Football League team to earn cans of Chunky soup for local food pantries. The winning team gets enough soup to equal the total weight of its players. In the Packers' case, that's more than 13,000 pounds.

Packers fans blitzed Campbell's special Web site and clicked the Packers logo 958,023 times in the two-month voting period that ended at midnight Friday, crushing the runner-up Indianapolis Colts fans by more than 242,000 votes.

In football terms, it was a blowout.

As a result, Campbell's will be shipping about 13,200 cans of soup to the Packers, who plan to distribute it statewide this winter, said Cathy Dworak, community relations manager for the Packers.

Although the Packers have distributed the soup only in Green Bay in the past, this year, the cans will be distributed to major food pantries all over the state, Dworak said. She said the team will figure out when and how to do that after the football season.
A winning record

Dworak said the Packers' success in the soup drive probably has something to do with the ubiquitous nature of fans.

"We have them all over the United States and even outside the U.S.," Dworak said.

It didn't hurt, either, that the Packers had a link on the team's Web site - one of the most-viewed of any NFL franchise - to the contest.
More rewards

Campbell's also awards the team with the most-improved number of clicks this year - the Colts - with 2,006 cans of Chunky soup.

In all, more than 5.8 million votes were cast among the 32 teams.

Asked whether the Packers could ever be dethroned, Campbell's spokesman John Faulkner said: "I'd be hard-pressed to bet against them. They've got a track record of success in this contest that's hard to beat now."

Heather, could you provide a link to that story?

Packers.com is "one of the most viewed NFL websites"....Almost all the others have a forum like this. There are too many posters on the many Packer discussion sites(like Packer Forum) for the Packers.com site to accomodate.

Five years in a row is really something. The voting started after Reggie White did commercials for them. I've only voted for 3 years and less this year than last year.

Approximately 90,000 clicks a day is a little more than one a second in total. Over 15,000 of those daily clicks were by Packer fans or more than 10 every minute of every hour of every day.

For a certain percentage of Packer fans to vote this way is really impressive.
