IMO Grant is gone after this year, he won't be extended. While he won't be "old", he's put on a lot of miles and old for a RB comes quicker than at many other positions. Plus his replacement is on the roster. Wells will be on the wrong side of 30 and gets extended only if they have no confidence in the player(s) behind him. But that's not generally the Thompson way so my guess is this is Scott's last year as a Packer. Bush is an interesting player. Some Packers fans seemed to hate him and his too-frequent screw-ups reinforced their opinions. But his combination of fearlessness, size (stronger than he looks) and speed are valuable on STs. I remember many were surprised when the Titans offered him a contract at about $1M/year in the spring of '09 and as I remember it, the Titans weren't the only ones interested. Then some Packers fans were even more surprised/angry that Thompson matched the Titans' offer. He will still have value as a ST's ace (he ran down quite a few punts last season) and his Super Bowl INT was not luck but was the result of his studying PIT's tendencies. Whether or not he gets extended may depend on where he is on the depth chart of the defense as it seems the Packers are taking a look at more and more ST's specialists, like Ryan Taylor. I agree Flynn will be gone. The NFL may make Jolly's status a moot point. If I were Thompson I'd waive him rather than wait for the next shoe to drop in the ongoing saga of Jolly's addiction to codeine. That leaves Finley and if he's healthy he will probably be their main focus. One of the advantages of the way Thompson builds and maintains the roster is big name free agents don’t skew salaries at different positions on the team. For example, if Jones received a "mega deal" that increases the price to extend other WRs and probably Finley who probably views himself as a quasi-WR. EDIT: Aren't the other '08 draftees deals up too: Nelson, Sitton and Pat Lee? I believe so and of that group IMO Sitton is by far the most important and he may be approached to extend his deal before Finley is (they'll want to be sure Finley stays healthy). I would favor extending Nelson too but Sitton and Finley are both at the top of the list IMO.
