Message: <blockquote data-quote="Bundesbiers" data-source="post: 548482" data-attributes="member: 9599">I'll take a stab at an opposing viewpoint on this one PF71.I think Russia absolutely deserves the World Cup.  They did a great job on the Olympics (apart from the rooms not being ready).  Taking the World Cup away from Russia would not punish Putin really, it would punish the Russian people, which by the way, most hate what Putin says/does.  The Russian people absolutely deserve to host the World Cup.Think of it this way.  The USA has invaded other foreign countries, sometimes without approvals from world governing bodies, and sometimes we had allies join us in those invasions.  Should the USA be punished in such a way to not host a World Cup or those countries who allied with us on those invasions... something to think about.I think Russia could do a great job on hosting the World Cup.I'm more concerned with the Qatar World Cup.  We all know the bribes were paid for the votes and that World Cup should be stripped immediately.  I know Sandolf disagrees with me on this issue and that's fine.  But I don't think Qatar should have ever been a suitable bid.</blockquote>
