Message: <blockquote data-quote="sschind" data-source="post: 718748" data-attributes="member: 10247">So you think that after a non SB season he told his players that the season was a complete waste and they were a bunch of losers.  You don't think that he could find some positives about a season that did not end in a SB victory.  I think you are missing my point and that may be my fault.  Yes, not winning the championship is a failure and if that is the ONLY thing that matters then I guess the any non championship season is a failure.  I'm not a Lombardi expert by any means but I do not believe he couldn't take a loss and find something positive about it.  Be it a single players performance or a refusal for the team to quit or what have you.  Some people act as if its all or nothing.  You win or you lose.  Its all good or its all bad.  I don't feel that way and I doubt Lombardi did either.  That may be the way he talked as a motivational tool but if you believe that is the way he truly felt you also believe that he couldn't  say "I'm proud of the way you guys played today.  You played a hell of a game today and did everything you could but we came up short."  If he truly felt it was win or else he would have to say "we failed and you guys are losers"  Somehow I doubt Vince Lombardi truly thought of his players as losers even if they didn't win.</blockquote>
