Jenks ran a 4.55 in his first 40 today He ran a 4.52 in his second attempt. You will hear many talking heads around the country say these numbers will make him a safety. While I look at his ability to play both CB and safety as a plus it's also ridiculous to say he is only suited for safety because of a 40 time. First of all these players are clocked by many timers while they run at the combine. They got a read of anyhwere from 4.53 to 4.60 on his first run this year and between 4.50 and 4.53 on his second. While these arn't eye-popping 40 times for a corner; a 4.52 is not anything to worry about. I personally clocked Jenks at 4.35 in one run December of '07 and on that same day clocked him at 4.55 in another. In his college years up to today his average 40 was 4.44. That is a good time for a corner. He has amazing game speed and side to side speed. He is a shut-down corner who plays physical and has GREAT size which you need in today's NFL to cover bigger stronger WR's. Keep talking heads! I want you to drop him right in Green Bay's arms! Cleveland still loves him at #5 and I have it from a good source that they would take him at 5 if the draft were today. I still have hope he slips and I still know he is the best corner I've seen come out since Champ.
