I think that late pass that was ultimately intercepted was a poor choice from the start, but it's pretty much what a lot of people have been asking for all year. Give the receivers a chance to go up and make a play. I would like to see a replay, but have not found one, because i'm just going off what I remember seeing live. Like I said, I don't think it was a wise play choice or throw at that point to begin with. But I think Janis was in position to make a play, to go up and fight for the ball and make a play, at the very least, get interfered with. There's plays like that all over the league every week. I watch parts of other games every week and see the receivers making tough catches and think, "remember when GB's receivers did that every week?" But regardless of the play call and where the pass was thrown, it was there for Janis to go up and make a play, like everyone has been calling for all year, give the receivers a chance, and he didn't. He took himself right out of the play, and horribly so. Instead of fighting for the ball, he gave the defense an easy INT. he's a special teams ace. it seems 3 people can't block him on coverages and if he hits a small crease at speed on returns he's 30 yards downfield before anyone can slow him down enough to get him to the ground. But in his limited role as receiver, I think it's obvious why he's not on the field. He doesn't have even average skills when the ball is in the air and he had a critical drop on the slant for what would have been a 1st down on a ball that was about as perfect as you can expect for the route. ETA: ok, I found it http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000605804/Raiders-David-Amerson-picks-off-Packers-Aaron-Rodgers The pass could have been further, higher, etc, but Janis vacated the area where the ball was going to be and left it open for the defenders to jump in and make the play. Not a great ball, but the receiver again, did no favors for Rodgers.
