Here's mine:</p><p></p><p>1) overall talent</p><p>2) character</p><p>3) intelligence</p><p>4) health</p><p>5) roster deficiencies (need)</p><p></p><p>If I were to assist TT this is how I would rate individual players, on a scale of A to F with "A" being worth 5 points & "F" worth 0 points, for each category.</p><p></p><p>So if Orakpo, Raji, Jenkins & Crabtree were available at Pick #9 (pipe dream, I know but for the sake of this post...) here's how I would submit my advice to my GM:</p><p></p><p></p><p>Orakpo - overall talent A=5 points, character B=4 points, intelligence C=3points, health B=4 points, current roster deficiency A=5 points - total of 21</p><p></p><p>Raji 5, 4, 4, 4, 5 - total of 22</p><p></p><p>Jenkins 5, 5, 5, 4, 2 - total of 21</p><p></p><p>Crabtree 5, 4, 3, 3, 1 - total of 16</p><p></p><p>Since Raji is the clear-cut favorite out of these 4 he would be the choice.</p><p></p><p>As a sliding scale to break a tie I would narrow it down one category at a time, (since in my grading I believe them to be in order of greatest significance) starting by eliminating from #5 & working backwards to #1.</p><p></p><p>So if it was down to just Orakpo & Jenkins, Jenkins is the choice because of higher grades at the more crucial areas of evaluation - overall talent, character & intelligence.</p><p></p><p>If TT's draft grade rationale is in any way similar to what I've put forth here, it may explain why a BPA strategy may supercede need, especially in Round One, specifiaclly picks one thru ten.</p><p></p><p>In '05 BPA was the rule for just about all Day One picks by TT. The greatest need was O-lineman yet the first 3 picks were QB, FS & WR. He waited until Day Two round 5 before he selected Junius Coston & then Will Witticker in round 7.
