The Crew - 2026

WTF?? Nobody following the Crew this season? As of last night's sweep of the Cubbies/Counsell (and a 2 hit shutout no less) .. the Brewers have won 14 of their last 18 to put them a game and a half above the Cards and Cubbies in the Central. Haven't been able to watch a single game this season because I'm not paying!!! ( I won't pay to watch the NFL neither).

Early on, it looks like the trade with the Red Sox that sent Durbin (a favorite of mine because he spent some time with the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders a few years back) east is paying off. Kyle Harrison pitched 7 inning of 2 hit ball, with 11 K's, and Hamilton had 3 hits and 2 RBI.

Miz is doing "Miz" stuff as usual, we'll see if his arm holds out, but of the highlights I've seen, he's continuing to make batters look pretty stupid on occasion. Seems he doesn't get run support but for god's sake ... 4-2 with a 1.89 ERA, 88 strike outs in 10 games and 57 innings.

The one that kills me to-date is Aaron Ashby's 8-0 start on 29 innings pitched... in two of those "wins" he pitched to two batters. ) ... granted that's filling the role, right? Still, back in the day, we used to call that "living in sh*t lucky".

Now....on to the Dodgers in Milwaukee for 3 games and Saturday's game is a national broadcast on Fox.

This is a fun team to watch for sure! They may be last in the league in Home Runs, but they are playing small ball better than anyone! I love watching David Hamilton, he can just burn it up on the base path! I think he has 9 bunt singles already and on Tuesday night he hit a 3 run inside the park homer. I think PCA got credited with an error on it, he let it bounce under his glove and get way by him to the wall. However, Hamilton just turned on the jets and screamed around the bases. Loved it!

This pitching staff, OMG! We all knew Miz was going to be good, but he has really stepped it up fast!! NY Yankee stud and future HOF'er Aaron Judge offered high praise, calling the young pitcher "the real deal" and one of the best he's ever faced.

How about Henderson?! He has been THE 3rd/4th guy in the rotation that the Brewers were lacking in the past. Once Woody comes back, look out!

@weeds nailed it when he said the Durbin trade has turned out to be a great one for the Brewers. They got 3 players that Boston had basically give up on (Henderson, Hamilton and Drohan). All 3 have flourished in Milwaukee. Meanwhile, Durbin is struggling in Boston. The other 2 trade pieces, Ziegler and Monestario aren't doing a whole lot for the Red Sox either.

I know a lot of fans love HR's, but for me, small ball is exciting and fun to watch. Add in solid pitching and you have the makings of a very good team. The Home Runs will come, but as long as the Brewers keep up the great pitching and smart offensive play, this team could go far!

Last note.....sweeping the Cubs....in Shitcago....SWEEEEET!!!

I like the fact the Crew does not depend upon HRs to score. It is fun watching our hitters frustrate opposing pitchers while they nickel and dime them to death with hits and walks. I was concerned pitching might be an issue with Freddy going to NY and Woody hurt yet again but so far so good. This upcoming series with the Dodgers will be interesting to be sure.

I really miss having Freddy in the rotation, but what are you going to do with the way other teams can out spend you by almost more than triple? Get as much as you can for your good players, before they leave in free agency. Same old song for the Brewers, especially with their pitching staff.

Imagine the Packers in the NFL with the same type of cap structure and revenue sharing as MLB has. Honestly, we might night be able to field a team that would beat the Badgers.

They’re on fire. It wasn’t long ago that the Crew were a few games over .500. It’s like the afterburners kicked in lately. They outscored the Cubs 15-2. Hoping this year they finish stronger. They can be like the Packers where they play great regular season, but fizzle when it matters most. It’s time for both the Brewers and Packers to turn it on in the Postseason.

At least the timing and location of the 3 game series with the Dodgers is perfect. The Brewers are on a roll, relatively healthy and at home. I doubt it will be the 3 game dominance that we saw against the Cubs, when the Brewers pounded out double the hits and outscored the Cubs 19-5, but I wouldn't rule out a Brewer sweep.

The one thing I really appreciate about MLB is that the tickets are still somewhat affordable. Obviously, playing 81 home games a season has a lot to do with that.

It is a good measuring stick head to head. But over 162 games we see the whole roster and each series affects the next one. In postseason the 5 or 7 game series matchups are more choreographed than in the regular season. The best vs. the best.

He was the upcoming star last season and ended 2025 with a league leading .813 winning percentage (13-3) and logged a career-best 3.32 ERA in 29 total outings, 157 1/3 innings.

As of now, his recovery from injury outlook doesn't sound very good. I don't know much about his condition "thoracic outlet syndrome", but it sounds like a very tough injury to come back from.

These pitchers are throwing so hard/fast, that injuries to their throwing arm/shoulder just seem to be inevitable.

Actually the Brewers can help themselves AND the Padres tonight. If the Brewers and Padres Win today the Padres move into a Tie tonight with The Dodgers at 0 games back. The Padres have similarly been on a nice trajectory like LA and Milwaukee.

Yeah, that was kind of a **** show. Unfortunately, it was a repeat of something that seems to happen with the Brewers. They get a really good pitcher on the ropes and they can't knock him out. They needed a clutch hit/walk or 2 in the 1st or 2nd inning and Sasaki would have been pulled. Instead, they eeked out only 3 runs and let Sasaki settle in and pitch through the 5th. Sasaki wasn't finding the plate at all and the Brewer batters got over anxious and started swinging at balls.

I stopped watching the S-show when DL Hall basically ended the game by looking like a minor league pitcher. I don't even want to watch the video on Jake Woodford "pitching" his 1.2 innings. This is an area where not having the payroll that the Dodgers have hurts the Brewers. They have guys like Hall and Woodford coming out of the Bullpen and way too often just get blown off the mound.

Well that was a sucky 2 games to end the series. Really hard to beat the Dodgers with the Pitchers that the Brewers threw at them in those 2 games.

Once Yadier Molina retired in 2022, they were "tolerable". He and Manny Machado have been my least 2 favorite players that played against the Brewers in the last decade.

Exactly. Nor can you have their starters on the ropes and let them off of them, so that they settle in and pitch a solid game. I can't recall all the games through the Brewers history where this has happened, but drives me crazy. You get their Ace starter to 30+ pitches in the 1st inning, load the bases and maybe get a run or 2 and that is it. Some of that goes back to the Brewers not having a lot of strong bats in their bottom third of the their batting order, but come on!

I probably should have added to Miz's May:

5-0 record, 57 strikeouts in 38 ⅓ innings.

Of note, the ".109 average" is opponents batting average in May against the Miz.

He shattered MLB records for maximum velocity. In a single start against the St. Louis Cardinals, he threw a mind-bending 57 pitches over 100 mph
