Which isn't saying very much, really. Put it this way - if, a year from now, we look back on 26 and say Nixon was once again the best CB on the team, we've probably had another very disappointing season. Trouble is, he thinks he's a clear #1, and wants a new contract. He says he had a really good year, had "met all of (his) goals", and wants to be paid accordingly. The guy really has unrealistic and inflated opinion of himself, and that doesn't reflect well on him. I admire self-confidence, but a little bit of humility would show that at least he recognizes he needs to improve substantially. It's even uglier if you look at the "all 22". Not only did he completely whiff on the tackle at the goal line, if he'd reacted to the play as it developed, he could have made a stop on the 3 yard line. When Swift hit the 6, Nixon was standing a yard deep in the end zone watching him come. There was nobody between Swift and the end zone, Nixon made no effort at all to attack the ball. He literally just stood there waiting in the end zone, watching Swift cover that entire 6 yards, before jumping out of his way. And for him to say after the game that he'd had a really good year, met all of his goals, and expects a raise, just plain ****** me off. I don't know how you can rely on a guy like this. That was just a disgraceful play, and he ought to be ashamed of it - not bragging about what a great year he had, and demanding a raise. To me, he's the poster boy for what's wrong with this team - no heart, no killer instinct. https://x.com/AndyHermanNFL/status/2012014450975654057
