Not being argumentative on this with you Do7, at all. But, the Packers GM saw things differently, and both Jordy and Cobb had MAJOR cap ramifications. Hell, I'd love to see Jordy come out of retirement and light em up again. Just saying I can see Gutekunst's rationale in dumping a handful of our top cap hits over the last two seasons, ones that were opposite of "ascending." For instance, Cobb lit up CHI like a Christmas tree last season, game 1. In game 2 v. WAS, he was the exact opposite. Caught 4 of 11 targets for 20 something yds and a costly fumble... a lot of hot and cold stuff with Aaron throwing to both players near the end of their stays here. I did find the fact that Jordy is already retired is kind of telling. Damn! He was FUN! I miss the hell outta him. Add to that, our Defense was calling out for help. Can't win a Championship without it. Gutekunst reallocated those resources into what we witnessed on D Thursday night, and I think the D will only get better if we can stay healthy. I can't argue that trade off. Good to see, and the offense will only get better as well. Our OL was one of the top OL units in the NFL last season, and we returned most of it in tact, with some added depth. Rodgers is a fierce competitor, and LaFleur will want to right that part of the ship. This will get better in time. We might see some surprising contributions from our WRs v. MIN.
