It is truly impressive how spread out targets and such have been this year.

Worthy note on who has led the team in targets and/or receptions each week so far in Love's tenure as starter:

Week 1 - Doubs, Reed 5 Targets / Doubs 4 Receptions
Week 2 - Reed 8 Targets / Reed 4 Receptions
Week 3 - Doubs 12 Targets / Musgrave 6 Receptions
Week 4 - Doubs 13 Targets / Doubs 9 Receptions
Week 5 - Musgrave, Watson 7 Targets / Musgrave 6 Receptions
Week 7 - Jones, Doubs, Musgrave, Watson 5 Targets / Musgrave 4 Receptions
Week 8 - Doubs 9 Targets / Dillon 5 Receptions
Week 9 - Jones 6 Targets / Jones, Wicks 4 Receptions
Week 10 - Watson 7 targets / Reed 5 Receptions
Week 11 - Reed, Doubs, Musgrave 6 Targets / Doubs 5 Receptions
Week 12 - Reed 8 Targets / Watson 5 Receptions

Led Team in Targets:
Doubs - 6 times
Watson - 3 times
Reed - 4 times
Musgrave - 3 times
Jones - 2 times

Led Team in Receptions:
Doubs - 3 times
Watson - 1 time
Wicks - 1 time
Jones - 1 time
Dillon - 1 time
Reed - 2 times
Musgrave - 3 times

% of targets so far this year:
Doubs - 19.2 %
Reed - 16.4 %
Musgrave - 12.5%
Watson - 12.2 %
Wicks - 8.9%
Jones - 8.3%
Dillon - 6.7%
Taylor - 3.1%
Toure - 3.1%
Heath - 2.8%
Kraft - 2.5%

Remaining to Wilson, Deguara, Sims

*For reference Davante accounted for 29.6% of all targets in 2021 and 29.7% in 2020

I would also say DA was twice as good as all of these guys and deserving of those targets. IMO.

Of course! I don’t know anyone that would think otherwise. Only knew folks would want a reference point to offenses here they’re familiar with.

Wasn’t drawing a conclusion or interpreting it further.

want a crazy stat from the Chargers?

33% of their targets are Keenan Allen and over 36% of their receptions as well.

He should’ve been 4X as good (actually more like 5.5X) Davante is making $3mil yearly more than every player named on that list combined.

Davante 2023 production =
814 scrimmage and 4TD

The group above has produced 3,412 scrimmage and 23TD
and cost $3mil less

I’d also say this Packer group is ascending while Davante is descending.
We’re not even warmed up yet

Of course, they have the great Jordan Love throwing to them. Of course, they have about 400 receiving yards more than DA if he had the same number of targets as that group above in 2023. Of course, in Tyni's post he referenced DAs 2020 and 2021 target shares. Of course, that is what I was responding to. Of course, he averaged 1,463.5 receiving yards in those 2 seasons.

Of course he’s overpaid!

Seriously though I’m just having fun
I actually like Davante. I just don’t $28.5mil like him ;)

The philosophy of spreading the ball is so much more attractive to me than putting all my eggs in 1 basket. I’m so glad we didn’t resign Davante at $30Mil annual. That would’ve been a fiscal nightmare. Glad to be done with that High spending wife! Really more like 2 Wives #12 and #17 blowing my life savings !! :roflmao:

Young QBs usually latch onto their security blanket. Favre latched onto Sterling Sharpe until he career ended, then started throwing to all of those young unknown guys in Freeman, Brooks, and Mickens.

Rodgers had a strong corps of WRs to start his career, but much like Benjamin Button, did it backwards and started latching on to Davante at the end of his Packers career.

Love without any star WR, is feeling his way around. He's spreading out the targets but is starting to single in on Doubs and others when the step up.
