[QUOTE="Heatherthepackgirl, post: 227276, member: 416"] By Greg A. Bedard Monday, May 19 2008, 07:54 PM Appleton - Aaron Rodgers might have been playing the hot corner in a charity softball tournament this evening, but he didn't want to take any hard shots from the media. "Keep it to softball, guys," Rodgers said as he approached a small group of media members before taking on the Appleton division of the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin at Fox Cities Stadium. In his first public appearance since Fan Fest in March, Rodgers said he was told by the Packers not to talk about football-related matters until Wednesday's availability during off-season practices. He stuck to that when asked direct questions about the two biggest lingering questions related to Rodgers: What did he think about the comments made by Brett Favre since his retirement? "Wednesday," said Rodgers, who was wearing a gold headband to hold back his hair, which has not been cut and goes down to the back of his jersey (somebody alert the Kansas City Chiefs). What did he think about the Packers drafting two quarterbacks, including Brian Brohm in the second round? "Wednesday." Now that we've got that settled, Rodgers was joined by teammates Ruvell Martin, Vernand Morency, Tyrone Culver, Nick Collins, Mark Tauscher, Johnny Quinn, John Kuhn, Greg Jennings, Mason Crosby and Alfred Malone. Martin has been the point man on a series of softball games aimed at raising money for the community programs of the firefighter's union. "It's always good to be able to get out and see the fans during the offseason; they haven't seen our faces in a while," Martin siad. "It's a good cause, supporting the firefighters. It's been something that has been a part of the Packers' organization for, I think, close to 30 years. It's not something too many people know about, but it's something we have a lot of fun with."
