It is not going to surprise me at all if Jones and Monty have higher YPC than WIlliams though Williams has more snaps. He ended the season a lot more confident and still effective runner than he started where he looked timid and unsure.
I think Jones is definitely the more talented runner, He'll be back and I've already said I think he has the right attitude for it. I do think he's genuine and not some blowhard just saying words. Anyway, even though I think he's the more talented runner, unless his pass blocking has greatly improved, I think Williams gets the nod for more snaps based on what HRE mentioned earlier. He's durable, available and versatile. He can catch and pass block, both very important, and there was a definite improvement in his running last year. He went from looking like a guy that just lowered his head into a hole because that's where he was heading and hang on to the ball, to a guy who showed more patience and hit a hold hard then lowered his head to move bodies when they got in his way of where he wanted to go. I expect the complimentary back to have a higher YPC than the primary one if he's a good one. I'm not sure if I'd use Jones in a primary role. Definitely not if he pass blocks like he did and then I'm not sure he'd hold up to the hard yards like Williams did. It is not going to surprise me at all if Jones and Monty have higher YPC than WIlliams though Williams has more snaps. He ended the season a lot more confident and still effective runner than he started where he looked timid and unsure. I love both those guys and can't wait until they are BOTH on the game day roster and their skill sets can really compliment each other and the game plan. Montgomery has a lot to prove to me, I like him, I like what he can offer. He has not been durable at all and last year I don't know if it was added weight or underlying injury, but he looked slow to me. Where he used to run away from a tackler the season before he seemed to be stuck in mud last year. Not sure what to make of it. He "could" be really good, or it could be more of the same. I don't have a good feel for which way it will go.
