Thursday Practice Spitz returns to practice It still seems Junius Coston is in line to start Sunday at right guard, but Jason Spitz returned to practice today. Spitz, who has battled a calf strain since minicamp, wore a wrap over his entire lower left leg during the padded workout in The Don Hutson Center. He participated in one-on-one, contact drills against other offensive linemen and appeared to be moving well. Even if Coston starts, Spitz would be active if he's healthy because he's also the top backup at center. DE Aaron Kampman (rib) and RB Vernand Morency (knee) didn't do much of note during the more than an hour of practice open to the media. It seems likely Kampman would play through what coach Mike McCarthy on Wednesday called an oblique injury, as he did a week ago against Philadelphia. McCarthy said today would be a key test for Morency. FS Nick Collins returned after missing Wednesday's practice with what McCarthy called a "positive" personal issue. WR Greg Jennings (hamstring), CB Al Harris (elbow) and RB Ryan Grant (hamstring) seemed to be practicing with no trouble. S Aaron Rouse (hamstring) and T Tony Moll (neck) again are long shots to be active. WR Carlyle Holiday (knee) did not appear to be participating at all, and his status for Sunday isn't clear.
