Message: <blockquote data-quote="sschind" data-source="post: 631760" data-attributes="member: 10247">Back when I became a Packer fan (mid 70s) they were pretty bad and they stayed pretty bad for a long time.  The only thing that kept me from throwing in the towel was the fact that each week brought a new game.  Yeah, chances were pretty good that the results would be the same (another loss) but there was also a chance for a more positive outcome.  If was the type of fan who looked at it like "what's the point we won't win the SB anyway" I doubt I would be here now.  I can't figure out why anyone would invest so much time if they honestly believe they are just going to end up disappointed in the end.I don't know, maybe it's some form of emotional protection.  As someone pointed out to me expectation is a precursor to disappointment.  If you don't expect much you won't be disappointed and if, by some miracle, they do win it all the victory is that much sweeter.</blockquote>
