“I don’t know the specifics of how long they think it’s going to be, but I know talking with Nick, he wants to go,” McCarthy said. “So that’s why we’re going to look at it Monday, and see where he is.”

How does a head coach not know the specifics on how long he may be without one of his top defensive players, yet he has time to chat with the player himself? Or is this just MM speak for "I don't want to discuss it"? Seems like it's a pat answer MM uses when discussing any injury.
