Well, you were unfairly targeted. The fact that the lot was 1/3 full f Bears fans is the reason for the foul smell.
Fans of the Queens and Iggles are more odious than Bears's fans, metaphorically speaking. I don't actually go to games any more, so take my comment with a grain of salt.

I ran into boxer Brandon Figueroa yesterday. I took my wife to her eye doctor for a follow cataract surgery. He pulled into the parking lot in his Maserati along with his girlfriend. She had an appointment at the same eye clinic. So, he climbed in my car with me, and we talked for over an hour until his girlfriend got out of the clinic just ahead of my wife. He was really upset about how he got manhandled in his fight against Stephen Fulton back on February 1st.

We talked about another fight with Fulton. He'd lost twice now to Fulton. Once by a majority decision and this last time by a unanimous decision. He knew he'd lost. It isn't sitting well with him and he plans on working his way back to force Fulton into a third fight. He still believes he can beat him. He just had to realize that Fulton is a better conditioned fighter than most and can keep up a solid barrage of punches for 12 rounds without weakening.

He's working his tail off for a fight in July out in Vegas. He had taken time off before preparing for the Fulton fight and he felt it was a mistake. He felt he was rusty and quite honestly slow because of it. He was back in the gym just 5 days after the Fulton fight and is putting in even more time now than he did in the past. His fight against Joet Gonzalez in July is going to be the start of a string of fights leading back to championship fights. He plans on doing 3 to 4 a year for the next two years so he forces Fulton to take him on again.

A really nice kid. We talked about how he's getting even more involved in youth activities around the city. He loves it.

As far as social media interactions, I've had some back-and-forth with: Jerry Reuss (Facebook), Hollywood Henderson (twitter) and Billy Gardell (twitter).

I don't know where to post this, because there's no "casual conversation" forum (which is a pity), but it is NFL-related, and I gotta tell somebody about it, so here it is...

I was on Facebook earlier today, and somebody posted a film clip of a really crazy college play. I made a comment on it, and then a few minutes ago I got a notification that somebody had "loved" it with a heart emoji. So, I took a look to see who it was, and...

It was Saquon Barkley! I'm pretty sure it's the real one, too, because I looked at his friends list, and there are several Eagle players on it. I'm sure they're real, because the two that I looked at (Coooper Dejean and DeVonta Smith) check out.

Sooo... I think I'll be expecting a little more respect around these parts, people, because obviously I'm someone whose opinion Saquon Barkley loves!
When I agree with something you said, you will start getting more respect around here. :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Thirteen Below knows more about football and the nuances of the game than a majority of posters. Respect is earned, like you said, and I for one respect Thirteen. You're still working on it in my eyes and not always coming out as getting there.

But that's just my opinion. Everyone has their own.

About Facebook. There are pretenders out there. A lot of them. But not everyone is a pretender. If you start with one reputable name of someone you get to know, and expand your ring of friends from that with people they know as well, and it expands from there legitimately, you'd be surprised at how many people you'll get to know at least casually out there in one way or another that are certifiably who they say they are.

In my case, every friend that I have on Facebook is certifiably who I know they are, and some use nom de plume's to protect their identity.
But I'm very leery of friending someone I don't know.

This is why I stay away from Facebook. Too many pretenders. It doesn't take much time or skill to pretend to be someone. The question I guess is why. I don't really care.

The mods keep this forum pretty clean. Trolls don't last long enough to matter.

Lighten up, Francis, it was tongue in cheek.

I'm da resident Bears fan here and we all just like bustin chops and talking football.
If anyone has earned the right to sling insults here it's us us Bears fans.
I thought my rookie QB would be great last year and then reality and a bad coach came crashing into da party.
I still showed up and ate my crow.
I guess we'll see what you do when JJ shiites da bed.
See you week 1 bubby.

The mark of a loyal, die hard fan is the fortitude one shows through the bad years as well as the good. And certainly, the fans in the NFC North have had their share of team droughts. I recall those years in the 70s and 80s for the Packers. As bad or mediocre as they were I still watched them and cheered.

Same here, and paying for season tickets over that period as well. It was all about tomorrow and what was going to eventually come back to the Packers. The Glory Days were what we all hoped to start again.

Since this thread is dying, I'll tell my story. Early 1970's. I had a paper route in Appleton delivering the Post Crescent. In one of my apartment buildings, I had been delivering a paper to this guy for about a year. Now he was gone at times, but always paid when he got back. This time he owed me for 3 months. So I knock on the door, and a different guy opens it. Much younger, early 20's and not in his 40's. Anyway, he says he moved in at the beginning of the month. He asks what he owes, and I tell him, well, since you have been here only three weeks, that's all he needed to pay me. He asked how much the other guy owed and I told him. So, he paid not only his, but the two months the other guys owed. I found out over the next few weeks that he was a ballplayer for the Appleton Foxes. His name? Bucky Dent. Now, in the same building, he had a teammate that I was also delivering a paper to. His name was Rich Gossage. If I had only known, I could have had a couple of good autographs.

I'd sit down with any of you and have a few drinks. Sarcasm works better in person. And it's a lot more fun after a few.
I've been told I'm pretty good at dishing it out. I suppose years of being a cop in Chicago contributed to that. Also, being around self-indulgent narcissists who needed to be put in their place at times when they thought they walked on water in July.

I have a friend who is a close friend of Bucky down in Florida. Bucky had a tragedy in his life 10-years ago when his wife Marianne died from cancer. A great guy according to my friend, who played MLB against him for years, and they became close friends when they both spent a little time with the White Sox.

We're thinking about going to Florida for a month next winter, and when we do, we'll spend some time at our friend's house and will probably meet Bucky and a couple of other of his friends who played MLB. It's kind of a close-knit fraternity to some of them down there. They enjoy each other's company. They all have a lot in common.

Great story! Amazing that both Bucky Dent and Rich Gossage played early for the White Sox but wound up with the Yankees.

Meet Arnold Schreznegger several times at the airport in DC, Washingtion National, while I was working there. He would come into the FBO, shake everyone's hand, and ask, "How are you doing?" And you got the sense that he really cared. His wife, Maria, would walk through and not talk to anyone. Night and day. I remember once, she came back in while Arnold was making the rounds and went, "Come on, Arnold, the plane is waiting".

Most know I drove Aaron Rodgers in my Uber in 2014

I’ve partied with lead singer Emerson of Tonic. He and I have mutual friends and my friend did a concert with him and we did after party stuff

Met lot of Packer players from the Farve years at private parties

I spent time with Brett’s brother and his kids at a private house party. Got to spend the night and even made his brother and kids breakfast

Oddest one was Danny Gokey of American Idol fame . This was during his height on American Idol

He grew up in my area, and a day after Xmas my wife and I went to Target . There was a bad snow storm so the store was pretty empty . Wife and I walking around and I noticed him right away . Walked up and said hey. We were chatting and I couldn’t find my wife

Wife was hiding . She was wearing a packer hoodie and velvet green pants lol . She was embarrassed
