He 100% needs to improve, and despite many with insane expectations for him - he has. 2020 he finally, albeit in small steps has at times illustrated an expanding route tree (I still say he is like a 4 out of 10 there...maybe a 3...but a year ago I give him a 0 or 1).2020 also has seen him become a capable, but more importantly willing blocker. When most WR stop playing a play on a run or short reception, MVS is seen blazing to catch up with our ball carrier and placing himself at minimum as a shield blocker. Watch the Bears game tape and the Eagles game tape. Coming out of college my blocking expectations of him were zero. I'd argue he has crossed over and is exceeding expectations for a WR period, not just him, but any WR.2020 has also illustrated he may just be one of those low percentage receptions type deep threats...a slightly lesser version of Kenny Stills that blocks. Stills reception % has never been incredible, but what he and MVS offers is of value to a team at the right price for sure. If MVS can learn to catch with hands and not body, his ceiling is a solid #3 on a team. Until then he is a teams' #4 at best - and it is his blocking which says #4 and not #5 honestly.He is still a young, raw burner type WR. He unfortunately is on a team that has expected a #4/#5 type WR to be as high as our #2 at times and still is asking for a solid #3. He just isn't that...the question is if he isn't that yet or isn't period. Either way, rookie contract and willingness to block mixed with his raw ability to fly make it ignorant to believe he holds zero value and should be cut. NO one on our roster can fill his limited and low targeted role in the MLF offense.</blockquote>
