Yeah Cobb's way better out of the slot and doesn't have the size to play consistently outside. Maybe getting a veteran with some height and route running ability is best, but who could that be? Jones? I'd much rather see Janis step up now and get ARod's trust. Yes I know ARod will give players second chances but IMO Janis hasn't shown enough to be more than a #2 wide out. Let him play with the first team for the next two games and see if he can get better. And get him off of punt returns. That's gonna be Hyde's job anyway. Whiffing on the punt yesterday is only going to mess with his head. As for that nice grab that was ruled out of bounds - well TJV pointed out that he had room to drag his left foot, something he has to learn. But it was an encouraging sign, one play or not. He has the requisite size and speed - has to work on routes and has to develop some chemistry with ARod. It took Jordy a number of years to develop, and I don't see nearly the same talent in Janis but I'm happy to be proven wrong. What would help is if the other Rodgers becomes a real threat at TE. He has the hands, his route running is getting better. He can't block so throw Ripkowski in there. Getting more passes to Lacy underneath may be another way to compemsate for Nelson's loss. Do you see Kuhn making the cut, given the rather impressive work of Ripkowski so far? I mean I know we're talking about Kuuuuuuuhhhhhnnnnnn! but the team has to come first.
